Jon thanks for the first hand feedback its nice to here from some one who actually handled one. Does the upper and lower seem solid enough to take a lifetime of beating from .300WM? Also did you get any pictures you care to share or does anybody else, not off the website?
Brining this thread back from the dead... Looks to be over a year since this was originally posted, enough time for the company to get some rifles out into the market ... SO has anyone shot this rifle yet? Can anyone give a range report? Or any first hand experience with this rifle? Thanks in...
If this stock had to be milled/ opened up to fit your action, then yes thats what did the chipping but if it did not I have had that same issue with the chipping on mcmillians. That comes from the bedding adhearing to the stock in that area. It was not taped off and if it was, it wasnt taped...
Shoot one bullet problem solved. I have a slight POI shift with my JP 1:8 from 55gr to 75gr, so yes to original question. However I shoot the 55gr bullets at every distance, had no problem last year with either first or second round hits at the FNH WV match . Unless your targets are the size...
Sean- With out thread jacking I have built my fair share of glocks, 1911's,AR's and precision rifles. That being said just because I have done those builds doesnt make me a gunsmith...Also to clarify all Kimbers are marketed as "customs" or sold as "kimber customs" those are production guns...
No it does not. I asked what your definition of a custom shop was. I would like to know the name of so called reputed "gun smith" who worked at Kimber feel free to pm it or lay out it there. A lot has changed in that company, what once was acceptable is no longer the case and the majority of...
And you would know because you work at the facility in Yonkers right? I could have sworn that when I was there about a week ago that I was in their custom shop...must have been some other custom shop that works and repairs 1911's... OP: They do and can front strap checker to whatever LPI you...
Re: accuracy over velocity?? I would be careful with such old rifles personally, velocity and pressure are very closley related. Although these older rifles were built fairly solid, the powders being used then are worlds apart from the powder being used today, depending what you use. Point...
Re: McGowen Barrel issues Yes have had issues with mcgowen in turn around time and quality of workmenship on some barrels, i.e the threads looked like they were cut with a dremel..
Re: Hornady Concentricity Gage +1 For the Hornady Concentricity Gauge. Why not get one more tool that helps eliminate possible issues. I have noticed an increase in accuracy with my rifle after checking facotry and reloaded rounds. You would be surprised everyonce in awhile when you find...
Re: Civil War Cannon Accuracy... Balls and F'ing huge ones at that to walk across a field with something like that pointed at you and then being able to see the poof of smoke and hope its not you...very impressive with the accuracy of that cannon.
Re: Some blimps are just better off dead... Haha im sure each of us have had an almost similiar experiance and upon looking back on it chuckle but dam that one takes the cake in my opion made me laugh good and hard, thanks for sharing.
Re: USMC Contract to Leupold Mark 8™ CQBSS™ I hope it is a way to get into them into the system, however if these rifle scopes are really costing the the corps 4k a piece this is a bad desion with what little funding they already have. A scope of this "type" 1.1-8x would do well on a DMR or SAMR
Re: USMC Contract to Leupold Mark 8™ CQBSS™ ...I wish someone with more information than me could explain the bigger picture here before I go putting my foot in my mouth. I think more clarity and information are needed before any real specualtion can begin, and I really want to do a whole lot...
Re: anyone doing cross fit in the army? i used to love doing those kinds of work outs(cross fit) where i almost hurl at then end of it but then i got out and got whats the word ? oh yea lazyy...
