can't get consistent number from same bullet ogive

Re: can't get consistent number from same bullet ogive I was having the same issue. I shoot a gas gun, and they are rougher on bases. I believe most of my variance was coming from bases that had been swiped or not as level as new. I bought another comparator base and insert, and as TresMon...

    auto loader - supressed ejction

Re: auto loader - supressed ejction Got the info from a post that was current at the time. It said brass ejects forward at lower chamber pressures and ejects to the rear if pressures are higher. For sure, my brass ejects forward with suppressor and to the rear with out. I did increase my...

    auto loader - supressed ejction

Hijacked this quote from another thread - "When the autoloader is cycling under pressure loads, it will often eject them forward. And when it is cycling loads with excessive it will often throw the cases backwards. Finding an accurate load that drops the cases in a neat pile off your right...

    Arbor/hand die seating inconsistency

Re: Arbor/hand die seating inconsistency Did clean up the Wilson seater. There was some crud and bits of powder in the base. Seating consistency did improve, but there is still an occasional variation of .003. I am going to start to measure the ogive of a unseated bullet to check the...

    Arbor/hand die seating inconsistency

Re: Arbor/hand die seating inconsistency Same problem here. With a Wilson seater I am getting .003 variance. ALthough I have bigger fish to fry than .003 variance in bullet seating. I am going to sort by ogive, clean the die, and try out the dry stuff. Or if anybody has the number for NASA, I...

Anybody got a 6.5 Lapua Redding S Type FL die?

Re: Anybody got a 6.5 Lapua Redding S Type FL die? Putting closure to this issue and my previous thread about bushing size. I got the 6.5L die. Using the 290 bushing, I am getting 290 OD. This gives me .001 neck tension, which was the goal. I am back on track.

Anybody got a 6.5 Lapua Redding S Type FL die?

Re: Anybody got a 6.5 Lapua Redding S Type FL die? I got it from Midway. They have a liberal return policy, and will take it back. I only resized a few cases with before I figured out my mistake. After all, I buy plenty from them, and have already ordered the correct die last night along with...

Anybody got a 6.5 Lapua Redding S Type FL die?

Re: Anybody got a 6.5 Lapua Redding S Type FL die? The Redding guy said to check the markings to see if its a 6x47 Lapua. I told him I had already looked and I am pretty sure it was 6.5x47 Lapua. He said I could send it to Redding and they would make it right. And maybe someone put the die in...
