I'm thinking a little air cylinder and a simple valve. And one of those yellow springy hoses that seem to snag on things in the shop you didn't even know you had.
I'd switch to the Predator. It is designed for the Wyatt's box, then just go with PTG BDL bottom. That is how I built mine anyway. Unless you go with the impossible to get Seekins mag system, you are always going to be short on mag length. Of course, that depends on how your reamer is set...
I am running a TL-1 as well. They are pretty capable machines but obviously require more investment than a manual machine. One limitation I haven't seen mentioned yet is the width of the headstock which pretty much doesn't allow doing barrels between spider chucks on each end of the head...
Re: Scope touching barrel remedy. Move your scope forward just a bit if you can get away with it with the ring locations and eye relief. I have one that I had to do that with and can just slide a piece of paper between the two - it hasn't caused any trouble for about 20 years.
Re: Marlin X7HB Project My second build was a .35 Whelen on one of these. They make for an interesting econo-build. Boyds has a laminate stock for them, but I think that's it for anything besides the injected molded Marlin offering. I have another one coming in to rob some parts off...
Re: 300 BLK headspace gauges? .221 Fireball is the same. Manson prob has them ready to go. He did when I called on the same questions a few months ago.

Re: 7x57 anyone? I just built a couple 7x57's on Remingtons with a lightweight theme. One was for me and I was able to take it hunting for Mule Deer here in CO. I rolled a big buck with the 140 Accubond over IMR 4350. I'm impressed by the performance as it seems the velocity is in that...
Re: Taking apart a harris bi-pod I've taken apart two to Cerakote now. The ones with the notched legs are much easier to get back together. My advice? - take good notes when taking it apart... I didn't coat some of the parts, like the upper half of the swivel that has the springs...
Re: FN made M70: to blueprint or not? Thanks for responding here matthias. I was hoping someone with some experience with these would chime in. I will probably not do it, for the simple fact that I need to get it done sooner than later for a possible trip to Africa this summer and I think...
I just took apart my M70 Extreme Weather (.300WM) for a new barrel. The factory barrel would throw 2+MOA with most of my loads and the best I got was just under 1 MOA... So I have a #3 Brux in the mail... So, has anybody worked on these much? Should I true up the action or just install the...
Re: best bang for the buck in custom actions? thanks for the input guys. Looks like the predator gets a few votes. Bighorn is just down the road so that is interesting too.
From a builders perspective, which of the custom (lighter) remington clone type actions out there is going to be the best to work with and provide the best results for a rifle that is going to need to function in hunting situations? I've got a friend/customer that has a budget that is going to...
