Preston, sorry I misspoke; they did not say "improvements." It was a "reliability concern." No further details or release notes are available per my comms. I work in IT, so I am accustomed to releasing notes, allowing the user to decide if they want to upgrade when it requires downtime I...
Mine is due for an update but I have not sent it back yet. Not sure what they are updating as I have not be told anything more than “improvements”. So far I’m happy with it outside of DOF, it will display cant via a bar, I’ll try and get a video up. I do wish it had TracIR support.
I'd imagine it's because the most significant market is 50 - 200 yards shots where high FOV is preferred. One would assume they will build higher base mags units as the market demands.
So, I have used the MARS for about 120 rounds of night shooting, mostly hunting. The RF is solid, the mount holds zero, and using it with the spin and jump turned off works well inside 500. An RF mode would be great for using ballistic reticles like an ACOG or Elcan. I still need to send it in...

I am certainly not the best shooter nor have I ever claimed to be. What I am saying is aero Jump, and spindrift are real things that require wind direction to help increase the accuracy of ballistics calculations. I was shooting long before the PRS as well. I can 100% say, shooter...
what would inspire you to buy the MARS over the MRFxe? The MRF has the same rangefinder, established brand, and is lighter. Plus if you add a fixed 5mph wind in the box and turn 180 degrees hunting it will update a left vs. right hold. As a guy with a MARS in hand, I’m really curious. I...
The MARS will outrange it 5x. The Radius is not steller in the day but is OK at night. I think 1200 asks a lot from a Radius but is nothing for the MARS. They will both get the job done inside 800 (at night). The Mars will do to 3k without issue in the day. They have about the same area of...
I have not, plan to do a lot more testing. Just got in from calling coyotes, not much moving with this TX heat right now but will say that using FIRST with tall grass and brush does not work well. I do think it might be the way to go for a lot of matches. I decided to keep the unit although...
From a match point of view, the way I believe it should work. Let's say the wind is averaging 7MPH from the east. You would put in 7MPH @ 90 (azimuth). Then, when you walk up to the blind hunter stage. Your first target is north, the MARS should set the wind at a full 7MPH from the right. Say...
I got my MARS last week. I also have a PLRF10C, 15C, Newcom3500, and Radius as well. Happy to answer any questions if you're thinking of buying one. I don't have any affiliation with MARS. I hunt, have a 1000-yard range in my backyard, as well have a few PRS wins under my belt.
