I have a question on over annealing. Why is the brass considered trash if it's over annealed to a dead soft condition in just the neck shoulder junction? I'm aware that some of the alloys are burned off when the necks are over annealed. But don't know why that would make them unsuitable to...
If you are planning to use the OTM for hunting you may want to re-think that. I used them for two years and had too many pass-throughs, luckily we never lost a game animal. I had used them when they first came out and they worked fine but the next 250 I bought gave me the issue I stated earlier...
My son and I spent the day shooting at one mile and 825 yards. We were shooting a .338 Big Baer (.408/.338) and a .338 Baer (about the same as the .338 Lapua just a tad faster) and a 300 Win Mag at 825 yards (ran out of elevation and had to hold for it). https://photos.app.goo.gl/ipcy5dzoZbMnvDoB8
I shoot a Bartlein LH gain twist 10-9.25-1 twist 408 CheyTac necked down to .338 shooting a 300 grain Berger elite hunter bullet at 3225 FPS. and haven't experienced any noticeable or uncomfortable impact on my face or otherwise and I'm 76 years old.
I've been reloading for 60 some years but new to loading for 5.56 AR15. I usually anneal after each firing of my long range guns (408/338) and others. But not sure about doing that for my 5.56 I don't like to crimp my bullets but was concerned I may not have enough neck tension (usually 0.003"...
Never did much annealing and have been fairly successful in 1000 yard competition ( won IBS national score championship and several state championships) and long range hunting having taken several deer over 1000 yards. However this past hunting season I noticed some vertical dispersion when...
It took me 2 seasons of hunting with my Schmidt & Bender PM ll 5X25X56, and after following the advice given to me on this board especially form "Aries64" (he gave some very good advice and instructions on how to properly adjust the ocular setting and parallax of a rifle scope and I owe him a...
Re: 12x50 Fusion 1600ARC Range Finder Binocular I compared the my Fusion 12X50 to my 8x30 laser guides on several occasions under bright sunny conditions and overcast days. On bright sun and snow conditions the laser guides performed flawlessly easy to read the distances, the Fusions were...
Has anyone used these, Bushnell Fusion 1600ARC Range Finder Binocular and Swarovski Laser Guide? how did they match up. I have the Sawarovski Laser Guide and they work great, however I like the idea of a binocular and I'm thinking of getting the Fusions. Any suggestions.
Re: Help with Schmidt & Bender PMll 5-25X56 Thanks for all the good information! I don't have a problem with the cross-hair going out of focus when power is changed, it's with the target going out of focus and the parallax adjustment not clearing it up
After focusing the crosshair to its’ sharpest point using the ocular lens adjustment, say at 5 power and viewing a target at say 500 yards, if I zoom to 25X the target gets distorted (out of focus) and can’t be cleared up using just the parallax adjustment, I have to use the ocular lens...
