Barrel wear or a manufacturing problem?

The chambering looks fine. Nothing I would worry about. Not saying you (OP), but people love to get their bore scopes out and nit pick every microscopic imperfection in the bore and chamber and blame shitty shooting on these things. 9 times out of 10 it's the shooter or ammo. I build rifles for...

I prefer the Hawkins hunter DBM. Run their flush fit mags or AICS style mags. No probs with the MDT Precision DBM except the price. For a hunting rifle, especially for night stuff, the mag latch release inside the trigger guard on the Hawkins Hunter DBM is a nice design. They don't catch on...

    25 Creedmoor

^^^ This.... If you load 6.5 CM you already have everything, just buy a new bushing, no need to buy new "stuff." I'm excited to see what new bullets are released in the future. I'm building my daughter a little deer rifle in 25 Creed, seems like the perfect whitetail round for a young shooter.

    25 Creedmoor

I've built a few for customers and have a bit of personal experience. The x47 family is just easy to load for. I had a load dev sheet a customer sent in with 8 charges spaced .3 grains apart. Everything was well below a half inch with single digit SD's and similar POI's. Basically pick the...

    25 Creedmoor

My trued data on the .25 135 berger has it at a .348 G7 per my kestrel, verified drops to 1660 and these fly at 2885 out of a 26" Bartlein. In load dev, I had these as high as 2950 with no pressure. My 140 ELD-M load with 6.5 CM runs 2825 with a trued BC of .320, once again verified drops to...

    25 Creedmoor

Were seeing more and more 25CM's pop up on the podium in the PRS matches. Flatter and less recoil than a 6.5CM, more energy on target and better splash than the little 6's, the 25 is a winner. We've built around a dozen comp rifles in the quarterbore and they all hammer with hardly any load...

Anyone using MDT metal mags with Hawkins Hunter BM

Quick update, I was completely wrong in my first post. I grabbed a rifle off the shelf with the short action Hawkins Hunter DBM and short action AICS (MDT) mags fit up and locked in perfectly. Looking back I have no clue which one we were messing with that we couldn’t get an AICS mag to fit…...

Anyone using MDT metal mags with Hawkins Hunter BM

Hmmmm... I'll have to mess with it again tomorrow. I just had a rifle in the shop with the Hawkins hunter DBM and the short action MDT mag we had wouldn't fit. I'll grab a DBM off the shelf and check it again.

Anyone using MDT metal mags with Hawkins Hunter BM

Hawkins Hunter DBM requires their proprietary mags. AICS mags won’t work. Mag dimensions and the latch placement is different.
