Re: Leupold Mark 4 vs Nightforce
Id go with the Mk4 and a good laser range finder. Mk4 can be had for around a grand new leaving 800 for a pretty nice range finder.
Re: Leupold Mark 4 8.5-25x50mm ER/T Front Focal
Dont grab any Mk4 if you find a deal on the M1 turrets like I did. The one I wanted done the LRT 6.5-20x M1 cant be converted to the M5 knobs. Check with Leupold before you buy.
Just a heads up.
Re: NightForce VS Huskemaw VS Mark4 LRT
Im content with the Mk4s. Ive had a Nightforce maybe the glass got better in them I dont know. But mine wasnt all that great. This was back when the were Made in Japan, imported through Australia by some company called Lightforce.

Re: Burris 30mm tactical rings
I tried to use them. The first set had to be returned to Gander Mtn because when I set the scope in them there was a quarter inch gap between the bottom of the ring and the scope tube. The pair that the store exchanged for them had almost as much gap.
Mk4 base...
Re: How to take off krylon paint from HS stock?
Brake cleaner, non chlorinated atleast takes of the black textured coating off.

Re: Leupold
Im guessing you have a Mk4. They may not be the in vogue scope around here but theyre a damn good scope regardless. As for specs they can be found at Leupold.com although I dont think they list what the light transmission is although the Mk4 fixed scopes all have excellent glass...
Re: Medical pack- small one
Amazon pretty much has a kit that will cover anything from scrapes and bruises to stuff you would use in surgery. Just search first aid in sporting goods and you'll have days of windowshopping. Kits with scapels to quickclot.

Re: What to use instead of torque wrench?
Wont apply to stocks but Badger has a good "Im too cheap to buy a torque wrench" system to tightening rings and bases.
Re: 10X for 1000 yards
Ive used Ultra(Mk4) fixed 10's and Nightforce 12-42x and ended up preferring 20x. Guys I shoot with tend to end up in the 15-25x range. One guy shoots nothing but a .50 uses nothing but his Mk4 10x. I guess what Im saying is I agree you really need to get to a 1000yd...
Re: Anyone Shoot 6 Ackley?
Its been a long long time since I ran a 6AI. I sold it years ago in fact. But using the Berger VLD, Shilen barrel I cant remember the exact charge but I know my best accuracy came with a full case of 4831 in the 29" tube.
