When I called to ask about a replacement CF hanguard Christensen said they do not sell any. I was looking to buy a handguard and check rest in the FFT style so I had both.

I love their chassis. I just wish they made them a touch thicker and opened the recoil lug area to .250 so custom actions could drop in.

I would say medium action would be ideal if you planned to run short action only and load long or wish to have a slightly ligher, more compact gun. However, I did it off a long action and it runs sweet. Watch this...it may change your mind.

Zeus action is the only one with an integrated rail and the Apollo lite doesn't have an integrated lug.

Not to sound like a jerk...but...who cares if your builder is in state? Whats the advantage your looking for?

I'd look at the 7 PRC.

If you don't handload....EC Tuner brake. Good reduction in recoil and you can tune your load. You can get a tapered nut or straight.

Recoil lug area is milled out for a .187 lug. You'd need to have it opened up to fit a .250 lug.

I think they said on post #2 that Imapact has a 16 TPI thread like a Remington. If it's a 1-1/16" x 16 TPI (Remington 700 pattern) PVA's Remage will work. Zermatt's 12 point or Invisinut should work too. Although the tool for the Invisinut makes is expensive.

What are your impressions of the rifle? I've been thinking of getting one in 6.5 PRC in Urban Camo.

Most Prefits will be shouldered. You can order a quick change prefit to use on the Zeus but I'm going to say that is something you will have to call in your order for and will not find stocked online. You can get shouldered Proof Prefits at Stocky's Stocks...
