Re: SWFA SS Classic Line in Mil/Mil
Got mine yesterday. I'm really liking the reticle, and it's clear enough to identify cars on the freeway almost 2 miles away. The eye box is a little touchy, but it shouldnt be a problem once i get used to it. It's new home is my 280 ackley. First long...
Re: SWFA SS Classic Line in Mil/Mil
Oh, forgot to ask. Are these going to have the same body as the old ones so the sunshade and ard fits? Any further info on a release date?
Re: SWFA SS Classic Line in Mil/Mil
They are top notch at SWFA. I've talked to a few of their reps on a few occasions. Very helpful. I just wish TPS would hurry up and get my rings and base to them.
Re: SWFA SS Classic Line in Mil/Mil
Go figure, I finally buy one of the older ones and they come out with these... I'll be watching for the group buy. These look awesome. Keep up the good work SWFA! I'm really happy so far with the 10x I got second hand. I think the 16x will be better suited...
Re: PST in hand!
I wish I could afford the pst. i've only seen pictures but I definitely got a decent chub for this glass. on another note, i've had my menace for a while. and i've put a couple hundred rounds downrange with it mounted on my 7x57 mauser. no problems yet. hopefully, eventually...
Re: Can someone school me on 280 Rem/280 AI?
i am having a .280 ai built by benchmark barrels on a 700 la with an m40 contour barrel, 1:9 3-groove twist and blueprinted action right now. i was just gonna do .280 partly because reading up on it there wasn't much performance difference, and...
Re: millet scopes
i bought a falcon menace 4-14 for my mauser, it holds zero pretty well. i'm still in load development so i haven't tracked it, and can't give a professional opinion on it, but i've yet to find anything to dislike about it. i'm...
Re: wth is this little knob thingy?
cool thanks. now i just need to work up some loads while i'm waiting on weaver. i mounted it to my rifle and the rear top mount sits 1/16 taller than the front so the tube floats in the front ring. hurry up and wait some more...
i just got my fm today and well never having put more than say 75 bucks into optics and drooling on the higher end glass i am very impressed. the ffp will take some getting used to but even with both sun shades on the picture is clearer than my eyesight. it didnt come with any warranty cards...
Re: ordered a fm... killflash fit?
cool... pantyhose? interesting, but i would think it would still let light thru it. and if you ever got a run in the field you'd be hosed. punnnn. found what i need at midway. all for less than 40 bucks. thanks for the input tho.
as stated i purchased a falcon menace 4-14x44 emd reticle blahblah yaddayadda... havent gotten it yet since swfa failed to mention that they were on backorder till after i paid for it. so while i wait painfully for my new baby to come i'm looking into killflash screens. i saw a few offered by...
Re: caliber for 1000yds but under 30 cal.
i have heard great things about 7x57. for being one of the oldest modern rifle cartridges, it can beat the snot out of some of ther factory magnum loads. i'm building a mauser at the moment from an old mexican action in this caliber. it has more case...
Re: 7.62x54r in .303 handload n00b ish
loaded 20 rounds the other night 6@ 44 gn 6@45 and the rest @44.5. all were really accurate. and none showed signs of overpressure or keyholing. so it looks like i'm goin with 45 gr. i was only shooting @50 yds but i'm blind as a bat and have the iron...
Re: 7.62x54r in .303 handload n00b ish
the bullets are 147 gn steel core .311 pulled from the 7.62x54r. i have heard that these bullets work very well in the enfields if the bore is good. i haven't slugged the bore but the grooves and lands look nice, and the rifle shoots very well. i can put...
ok. coming out of the shadows finally to ask some questions.
i have 170 rounds to load with some pulled .311 steel core bullets for my .303. i am using rl15 and winchester primers. i've been looking around here and elsewhere unable to find definative measurements on this load. the enfield in...
