I spoke with a technician at Pulsar today. He conceded that being off only 2 inches high or low at the calculated range of 200, and 300 yards may be about as good as I can get it. I’m basically at the limitation of the pixel size. He also seem to imply that 300 yards would be considered long...
That was the only thing I changed while I was set up to shoot. Changed the velocity and No joy so far. No joy. Let me correct that. I have two other 640 scopes that are well past six years old. This scope is a dramatic improvement in clarity. So there is much joy in the improvement in the...
Just got a new Thermion XP50 pro LRF and zeroed it in at 100 yards tonight using IMI 77 grain ammo. I chose to manually enter all the data instead of choosing the pre-loaded black hills ammunition choice which may work just fine in this application. I will be happy to try and screenshot or call...
I called last week and asked about this. Not boson. They are making their own cores. I was told made in USA. I didn’t go in to specific nuanced level questioning about what that might actually mean. I was told they would be making these cores available for other manufacturers in the future...
I see what you’re saying above. Thank you. I guess I may not know where the ideal encroachment down into the case the bullet needs to be seated. Is there a minimum amount of neck contact with the bullet to consider? Or another consideration?
I’m interested in this topic also because I’m interested in getting a 223 wylde bolt action for my first bolt action. How do you know where to seat the bullet that you used to send to your Smith for proper throating? I wouldn’t know where to begin other than hoping it liked a particular bullet...
Just spoke with Earl at IR Defense, he didn't have a list and said Chris could help with this better next week. He did tell me that the Elcan brand works exceptionally well, but any low power scope that's 1.5" above rail should work. Sounds to me like many scopes could be used then...
Thanks I think I know which ones would be good choices from a precision standpoint. But always am open to recommendations. For now, I feel like I am as repeatable and accurate as my suppressor will allow and am very happy. Thanks.
Okay I am a dumbass I can admit it. I knew the AAC 51 tooth mount could have issues. And combined with the fact that there is an old thread that got bumped up by someone else caused me to rethink this. I tightened up both amounts as tight as they could be through a series of trial and error...
For now this is the only suppressor I have, I do have a harvester in the works but it'll be a while for that to come to pass. I know this is not a high precision suppressor but the atmosphere or gases in the can is a new explanation for me. The mounts on the two rifles in question were...
I wound up buying a 20 inch black hole weaponry 308 barrel. I'm using a Lapua brass with 165 grain Barnes TSX hunting bullet and CFE223. My initial (but not yet confirmed) OCW testing is showing an accuracy node at 47.5 grains with chronograph readings just under 2800 ft./s. CFE223 must...
I would welcome anyone to take a stab at this issue I am having. AAC 762SDN-6 Used on three rifles: 10" Noveske 300BLK factory upper 20" 270AR (wildcat ar15 platform) user assembled. 20" LR308 black hole barrel, user assembled. To be honest I have not touched my 300 blackout...
How long did you run the tumbler and what size pins are you using in the tumbler? I usually run mine four to five hours to as long as overnight. And the pins I am using are small enough that two or even three can get jammed in the flash hole. Primer pockets come out as clean as the rest...
Zip Are you using that K&M chamfer tool every time even if you don't trim the case? Of course when I read the description like what's in the link you posted I feel like that's a new tool I'm going to have to have. Thanks
I have not tried this yet but this method of measuring the temperature seems like it may work better. http://www.hornady.com/assets/files/manuals-discontinued/metalic-reloading/tools/Annealing-Kit-instructions.pdf I've tried using the 750 degree templiaq inside the neck, but I couldn't...
I read this on accurateshooter.com and it may of been written by a manufacturer but it said to make sure your gas tube is not binding on the receiver or gas key. Not sure how much difference it can make but it sounds like good advice to me...
Sorry, I probably did a poor job of explaining this and didn't have time earlier to look all this up. I was suggesting that if you look up the SAAMI case dimensions to see how long the chamber is supposed to be and compare that against published "trim to length" to see how much the powder...
