    S&W M&P 10 308 Win Unofficial thread

I bought my M&P 10 in August of 2014 from Buds Gun Shop. I purposly chose the Model 811310 State Compliant model which had the 18" barrel that was not turned down in front of the gas block. Under the gas block is .750" and just ahead of the gas block is .745". I installed 2 different free float...

Zhumell 25-60x80mm Spotting Scope-Un boxing and Initial Impressions

My guess is that there are allot of people who can afford $2K+ optics that don't need them.... I've seen guys at the range with all kinds of expensive guns and gear who couldn't shoot worth a hoot. Expensive gear is nice but it can't replace fundamentals. There is a wealthy guy I know who is...

    Gunsmithing Savage 10FCP Mcmillan issue

Wow, can't believe you traded theMcMillan for a Choate. I've had both and to me there is no comparison. I would have been interested in buying the gun if it didn't work for with the McMillan. Hope you get it worked out. These are good guns.

Has anyone bedded their Savage MKII

OOp's sorry for the Nero post... I have the Boyds' Tacticool stock and it needs bedding. I pillar and Devcon bedded mine. It shoots much more consistent now. 25yd target. Re-zeroed on the top left 2, then dialed it in. The one inchers on the right were after dialing it in. It should do...

    Gunsmithing Savage 10FCP Mcmillan issue

I have the same gun, with Badgers 20moa Rail and Badger Standard height rings and a Viper PST. I got on paper at 75 yards and zeroed at 300yrd. To hit 500 yrds I need 2 mils of elevation. Still hav plenty of elevation. I know the Badger stuff is expensive but if you try them and your problem...

Zhumell 25-60x80mm Spotting Scope-Un boxing and Initial Impressions

Range Report If anyone cares, I was finally able to get to the range and do some shooting. I shot at 100, 250 and 300 yards today. I was shooting .308 cal on a 6' x 2' cardboard target with 8.5" x 11" white paper targets stapled to it. The conditions were overcast with clouds and some rain...

Gunsmithing Pillar Bedding a Savage McMillan Stock, Completed

I tried the Mags with the addon floor box that add more rounds. The factory mags feed lips won't handle much more than 6 rnds. The rounds were always popping out. This is much better.

Gunsmithing Pillar Bedding a Savage McMillan Stock, Completed

I agree, it would be great if they did put the pillars in. I agree that they are pretty thin in the area of the pillars. I wish I had, had Cdi inlet my stock, would've come out much better looking. It's not pretty but it is really solid now.

Gunsmithing Pillar Bedding a Savage McMillan Stock, Completed

Finally got back on this after a trip to Chicago for work. So after the pillar bed I was not real happy with all the bedding around the recoil lug recess and front pillar. I filed most of that down and prepped for the bedding. Camera batter was dead so no pics of the prep. Basically I waxed...

Gunsmithing Pillar Bedding a Savage McMillan Stock, Completed

Well after reading just about every post here on bedding and watching videos on Youtube, (best of which were Oz's (STR)) I felt confident enough to try it. I first purchased a bottom metal Kit from CDI Precision. I fitted it myself with a Dremel, Big mistake looks like I used a chisel. But none...
