Sidearms & Scatterguns Fireclean or Froglube?

FYI KAC recommends FIREClean in all of our weapons. We have tested pretty much everything under the sun. If you don't shoot much you may not notice the advantages ;) For those running Frog Lube. Don't get it dusty, or really hot in a gun. Or better yet don't use it...

    Mk12 not up to par

I use Varget in my 77gr loads as well. Both Nosler and SMK projectiles. The 77gr can one hole at 100yd/m no problem with a good loading.

    repairs to AR-10 bolt

Ditto to Unknown. Minor pitting can be fixed by blast and re-coat, but anything other than that I would bin it. UFI: M110 spec calls for Bolt replacement after 5k, its a HP tested bolt, and will drop lugs ~7,500 -- the SOCOM Mk11 and M110 Carbine bolts are good for over 15k. Not sure what...

GAP-10 6.5 CM-- heavy cratering, heavy swipes, and 2 pierced primers with factory ammo

Interesting stuff -- thanks for posting George and OP. I'll second George's comments on factory ammo issues in a gas gun, and especially suppressed you see a lot of dropped primers etc as it was never designed for gas guns. Even in today's world the majority of companies make ammo for bolt...

Please explain "driving" a gas gun and "loading" a bipod

Generally folks will shoot better off a pack or bag (or tripod) than a bipod. Bipods come with their own little idiosyncrasies, and some guns prefer different pressures, as long as the bipod is not hoping around off the ground. Generally on bolt guns and bipods I push my weight forward into...

Basic AR-15, with 4X acog? One of my "favs"

Optics can also freeze over in the winter by condensation from your breath - and light off the glistening snow can blind you quicker thru an optic. There is a reason that BIS are issued along with Optics -- -- however MUD can just as easy clump to your sights and make then ineffective until...

Basic AR-15, with 4X acog? One of my "favs"

I'm no longer an ACOG guy - as you can get a lot better optics these days for cheaper (by better I really mean better, ACOG's have some major parallax issues, so using them with NV in front is not great, the BCD is load and climate specific, and the 4x ones have crappy eye relief). However all...

    308 build 16in vs 18in

For the ranges the OP is taking about the 16" is more than capable -- use a rifle length gas system -- the recoil will be much smoother...

Slide fire VS True Full Auto: One more controllable than the other?

Slidefire being anything is a joke. Its a horrible POS, and not controllable - the whole design is rocking the gun back and forth instead of an autosear trip, do the math...

    KAC/KMC Commercial Order Update 6/6/2013

We at Knight’s Armament Company have always prided ourselves in the quality of our products. As we are still a nation at war, the primary focus of KAC is, and always has been, our US government customers and allies. The unprecedented demand for our products, in addition to government purchases...

    12" 7.62 Capabilities

I've shot short 7.62mm guns, all the way down to 8" 16" is where my 'comfort' level is with the cartridge - based on the law of dimishing returns, in the short (12-13") guns there is a great deal of unburnt powder and the ballistics are much closer to a 7.62x39Russia than normal 7.62x51NATO...

KAC SR-25 ECR- initial thoughts (brief mini review.)

Next to no-where, we are discontinuing commercial sales July 1, until the backlog (around 12 months for a SR-25) is cleaned up to a manageable number. I'd recommend waiting until you see what is new ;)
