It is fine to put steal rings on an aluminum base. Einstein is not as smart as he thinks he is. I use the Badger USMC rings on an aluminum rail and a S&B PMII 34mm tube. Very sturdy setup.

I think S&B justs wants to be ready for the 40MOA and higher bases. Better your first shot be low. I set mine like they said, shot paper at 50m and calculated the mrad adjustment to zero. Second shot was close enough to move to 100m for final zero. Then I reset the DT turret to zero.

I took about 1/8" off that adjustable cheek part to let the charging handle come all the way back when the cheek piece was up in position. I also put a charge handle side pull on. I believe it was from Badger. The PRS was the model made for the AR10.

I only looked at RRA for different rails. They had what I wanted so I didn't look aftermarket. This is using each GMM at 109yd. That first rnd was a little crazy.

I have the 26 varmint and have 6 fal inch and 6 RRA poly mags. The poly mags are not tight, but they don't gravity drop out. Someone on here recommended an area to remove some material on them but I have not tried it. The FAL inch mags work fine. When new, my chamber was about .0005" too...

Looks like fun, but the only semi auto guns I have with iron sights or red dots are 9mm, 45, and 22 pistols. Darn! How about if I turned my S&B scope down to 5X? You should start one of these for the 45 sidearm and go 7yd, 15yd, 25yd, and 50yd.
