I have my Vortex HS-T 4-16x44 mounted in low rings. Still a good 1/4" clearance from the scope to the barrel. You should be good with low rings. Check out the How to measure ring height thread just to be sure...

I have used the Weave base for 500 rounds or so. No problems.

I cant' decide between installing a short chamber Shillen Barrel or a Remage barrel. Every time I see someone do the Remage I lean more that way. :)

What about a wooden handled shingler's hatchet. You could add a longer handle if desired.
