Opening Day of Arizona’s Cowtown Long Range Shooting Club - 4-Oct

I went. Took the family. Wife took one look at the miniature dump that seems to constitute a parking area just beyond the gate, and turned up her nose. So, I didn't do any shooting. I'm sure it's a good venue for a small number of people.

Opening Day of Arizona’s Cowtown Long Range Shooting Club - 4-Oct

I've had to cancel the trip to the Vegas match this weekend, so if I can find a moment, I'll try to get to the thing at Cowtown. I agree that having an annual membership fee _plus_ high per-visit fees is a deal-breaker, but it would be nice for some of us to see the place.

October 2014 Las Vegas Precision Rifle Match

Cool. We have eyes and ears for them, of course. I'll keep working on the wife. I've wanted to come shoot a Vegas match for some while now...

October 2014 Las Vegas Precision Rifle Match

I'm trying to convince the wife. Can kids (watched by a non-shooter adult, of course) be at this location as spectators?

Most Accurate 6.5 Creedmoor out of the box?

Sorry, I've been out of town. It's a great shooter. I don't bench it much at all, but have got 3 - 4 shots to touch with 123 Scenars (that's all I shot at one bull), and have got it to shoot 140s very nearly that well. That doesn't pass muster with some here, of course, but it's the use I put...

Most Accurate 6.5 Creedmoor out of the box?

I have the M77 Hawkeye Predator. I tried to get an American Predator to go along with it, but they were all gone before I received the email notification. :(

Most Accurate 6.5 Creedmoor out of the box?

And Weatherby, and Browning. All are rifles of a bit different sort than the AI or various others mentioned here. I got rid of my Savage Creedmoor and now have a Ruger. It's a great general-purpose rifle. I don't use it as a match gun, or at least I haven't. It's job is hunting, plinking...

How to build good copper equilibrium in a barrel?

Yes, definitely. My experience with a variety of savages over the past 20+ years is that they're pretty rough, and the newest ones are _very_ rough.

    Prone- Slung and Biopod

Thank you both for your replies. Well, I can't say I love my stability in the sitting position, but it's alright. That translates into: I think I probably need to practice more, and I'm open to looking at alternatives to my open-legged position if there's something better. That said, what...

    Prone- Slung and Biopod

I normally shoot precision rifle matches, but I was able to shoot a High Power C&R match this weekend with my M1. First HP match I've shot in a very long time, and first match with the M1. They (the HP guys) 'sit' differently than I do. I'm pleased with how I did in that match, but I'd like a...

    Break Free, WTF

Without disputing what you say about where PTFE bonds, I'm a little fuzzy as to how there's _more_ heat in the BCG and receiver than the bbl just forward of the chamber. ?

Rifle Scopes Swfa matches or military service

I've shot our club matches with a 10x42 (non-HD). Last one I shot I got my match fee back with that scope on my 223.

    Pedersen Device?

Chapter XV of "Hatcher's Notebook" is devoted to the Pedersen Device. There are pictures of the device, both alone and mounted on a Springfield rifle, on pages 362, 364, 366, and 368, as well as a picture of the author's son (Lt. Robert D. Hatcher) firing one in 1947, on page 370. Although...

    Break Free, WTF

Perhaps it would be worth it to you to email BAE Systems and ask them? They own Safariland, which owns Break-Free, and they are certainly the ones who could tell you. I've asked them in the past, and they've answered me. I don't know how long ago the reformulation you allude to is supposed to...
