    Hunting & Fishing Venison Pastrami

I smoked up a batch of Pastrami yesterday on my Weber kettle. Turned out awesome. I use Ruhlmans recipe Homemade Pastrami | Michael Ruhlman for the brine, soak in water for about two days to cut the salt and then smoked in my weber kettle for about three hours ( I just make stack of coals...

Hunting & Fishing Do you practice off-hand shots - at what range?

Over the years I have killed most of my food with off-hand shots. I prefer to use a rest if available but I seldom have a chance the way hunting goes around here. I was practicing with my 25-06 out to 200 yds, hit the pie-tin 80% of my shots. I hiked around a bit and to get my lungs and heart...

Gunsmithing Rem 760 300 Savage- reamed to .308?

How hard would it be to ream a 300 savage chamber to .308? Rem 760 barrels are scarce, and they don't have much extra meat on them to work with

Rifle Scopes Does anyone sell a blank Weaver-style rail?

I have an old Savage .22 super-heavy bull barreled rifle, has some funky hole-spacing in top of receiver. I would rather drill holes in a rail vs new holes in rifle

    Hunting & Fishing 300 H&H Mag anyone?

I am resurrecting a nice old Rem 721 300 H&H. Original 26" barreled action in real nice pristine shape, gave up on finding original stock so I will fit it into a modern 700 wood stock. The action is smooth as glass and those long tapered shells really cycle easy. Ive never seen a Rem 721/722...

    Remington 742 Carbine 30-06 Preservation

I have this 742 carbine, as I understand the bolt is made of harder stuff than receiver and the rails get eaten up. I can see this already starting to happen in this old gun that has not been shot much. Would a recoil buffer and/or brake slow the problem? Anyone have any ideas on how I could...
