I have owned two 15-22s. I got the original model when they first came out and later upgraded to the Performance Center model. Runs like a clock. It's scoped with a Redfield which I sent to Leupold for parallax adjustment to 50 yards. I have not really tried to get much accuracy out of it...
SOLD - Pending Payment For Sale is 500 rounds of Black Hills 308 168 grain match grade ammo. If you know the Black Hills brand you know the quality of this ammo. Cheapest I can find it for on line is $1.50 per round. Price is $500 for 500 rounds. Cash FTF in Montgomery County Maryland...
I have owned a +2 308 AR for many years. I bought the barrel from ADCO. They offered a 24 inch +2 Pac Nor barrel for the AR10B models when Armalite was the only game in town. I also recall that Hollinger (WOA) experimented with extended gas systems for the AR platform. This was10+ years ago and...
The Dicks in Gaithersburg Maryland had boxes of FED American Eagle for $2.50/40rnd box yesterday. Three box limit too. But a 40 round box instead of the old standard 50 round box seems like a rip-off to me. I guess they treat you Texans a little better.
Assuming that the existing 22 manufacturers are pumping out as many rounds as possible, it seems to me that more rounds are being produced than fired. So there will come a time when the hoarders reach capacity and prices come back down. I recognize this is a guess but since the shelves at the...
A couple of thoughts for your consideration: Would a 15-22 performance center model work? They are a bit more expensive but I think they have what you need. I have one and really like it. On the 10/22 side - have you looked at the 50th anniversary model of the 10/22? I think it has the...
I worked for a tree company during summers during my college years. Dangerous stuff. You can never really predict what a tree will do since none of them are exactly the same. I saw some chain saw and tree fall accidents that were pretty serious. A few years after I left they had a fatal...
Personally I have watched the trend of shorter and shorter barrels on 308 rifle platforms and I think some people are going too short because it's the trendy thing to do these days. Unless you reload, your 308 ammo will be optimized for something longer than 20 inches. Even if you do reload a...
Which model trigger did you use? FWIW when I upgraded my AR10 I selected this trigger. Hi-Speed National Match - Match Rifle Trigger "The Geissele Hi-Speed Service Rifle Trigger is designed for NRA High Power Service Rifle competition. It is an approved trigger for use in CMP sanctioned...
RCPD34 I'm not sure if the 2 inch forward mount is too much. But I think there is another consideration for you. Ring height. First let me make sure I understand what you want to do because if my assumption is incorrect my input won't have any value to you. I think you want to be able...
Gents - I know a guy who recently bought a Remington 700 AAC-SD. .308 tactical and a used Leupold Mark 4 PR 4.5-14x40 scope. He does not plan to modify the rifle so while it's an accurate factory rifle it's not at the quality/cost level of many SH members. He's very cost conscious but willing...
As someone who has owned and modified several 10-22s I would lean towards the Kidd barrels for most applications. Also if you want a better trigger than factory (and you will) the Kidd trigger is a top quality replacement. Welcome to Kidd Innovative Design - Why Be Average? (830) 557-KIDD(5433)
As someone who went down the wrong path and finally sold my modified 77/22 and 504 to finally buy a Cooper JSR I fully agree with this thinking. Annies will also do the job. In either case quality comes at a price, but it's worth it.
Yes you were very lucky. I ordered a complete upper from WOA in December and it did not arrive until early September. But I did spec a 1-8 twist instead of his standard 1-7 twist so there was no chance that the barrel would be in stock. Still it took a loooong time.
I think the OP said he was looking for something in the 12"-15" range. If he's inclined to go to the longer end of that range the 15" SWS is in my view still the best design on the market. At least it works for me. I bought it a couple of years ago. It's designed differently than their...
I have an 18 inch SPR complete upper on order w White Oak and I have another complete upper that I bought from White Oak three years ago. Based on past experience I expect another wonderful upper. I continue to be surprised at his reasonable pricing considering his top quality product.
Looks like I've been screwed so far. In December I ordered three 5 packs of 308 PMags from Brownells. A month later my order disappeared from my account and it took weeks of e-mails with Brownells customer service to get the order restored. However when they restored the order it had a new...
