Shoulder Bump: 1.556" feels perfect – still size to 1.554"?

I'm guessing someone ran an average in a spreadsheet, and copy-pasta'd all the digits, rather than truncating back to the thousandth like they should. Then they're trying to read something significant from what are basically rounding errors. At that point, he's probably better off just going...

The Shot You’ll Never Forget Giveaway - Enter To Win A Barrel From Rifle Barrel Blanks!

A while back (2008) I went to my second FCNC match, in Lodi WI. Back then, FCNC was 600 & 1000yds, but Lodi had a firing line back @ 1200yds, so they had an extra 'side' match for those who wanted to (pretty much everyone). Keep in mind... this was back in the days of 155gn bullets @ 3000 fps...

Shoulder Bump: 1.556" feels perfect – still size to 1.554"?

You've got an awful lot of decimal places going on there... what are you measuring with that you think you're actually reading to the tenths or below?

Micron Precision Bushing Sizer Not Compatible With Zero Press?

I have a BC Micron F/L bushing die (.308 Win)... and I had a 419 Zero press. Mine fit in the regular tool head well enough; at the time the primary concern seemed to be the fit/finish of the threads on both resulting in things being a bit too tight, or at least that was my understanding...

    Annealed brass opinion

Whether or not the color change 'shows' - and how much - has a fair bit to do with the surface condition of the brass at the time of annealing. I - and many others - have taken cases from the same batch, ran them through the same annealing process, some showed a color change, some didn't. One...

    Variation in seating depth

See above, specifically Sorting by BTO or bearing surface is pretty far down the list of things that are going to make a meaningful difference in your group sizes. Not saying that sorting can't or won't help... but the situations where the juice is worth the squeeze are pretty far and few...

    OCW Help

If you're going to run an 'OCW' test, do yourself a favor - put all the targets on one line. Either flip that sight-in target over, or bring a couple sheets of copier/printer paper stapled up side-by-side ala 'landscape'. Strike a line across the blank sheet (a cheap 2 ft construction level...

Where is everyone buying their precision calipers?

If the price is noticeably better than what you see at reputable supply houses like MSC it's probably a grey market clone. ie if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

    KRG Bravo Finger Bite

Normally I'm used to hearing 'hot spot' in relation to a grip only with something like a hammer or hand saw handle ie some designs will cause a 'hot spot' where the web of your hand or side of a finger can start to blister prematurely due to a poor fit. Is that what you guys are talking about...

    Neck Turning Lube

Sinclair used to have a neck turning oil, and the most recent hotness is Delta Carbon "No Oil" lube. Imperial sizing die wax is great for a lot of things... neck turning isn't one of them. The biggest problem with the oil based solutions - home brew or other - is the need to get it all off...

    Problem with bump gauge insert

I'd be-bop over to the Brownells site, and order a 23A insert. Problem solved.

    223 Rem Bolt/Trainer Loads

You can also 'mine' the existing sticky thread on .223/5.56 loads by searching for specific terms mentioned here, like '75 ELD' or 'AICS'. Might take a bit of reading, but that never hurt anyone (too much) ;) FWIW, I'm in a similar boat: I recently picked up a second Origin action, so now I...

Flat Rear Bag - For under Main Bag

Edgewood sells them as well. Search terms that might help: 'stabilizer bag', 'dead bottom', 'rear bag donut', 'prairie dog life raft'

    Muzzle velocity difference between manufacturers

Something else to bear in mind... as you go shorter, the bigger cartridges like the 6.5 PRC show less gain over something like the 6.5CM. Will it be faster? Probably. Are you likely blowing a fair bit of unburnt powder out the end of that short barrel? Probably. There's even some...

    Problem with bump gauge insert

It should look like this: Yes I know the insert in the pic says '23A', which Brownell's says is for 6.8SPC, not .223 Rem. Most of the inserts I have pre-date the 6.8 SPC, or Brownell's buying Sinclair Int'l.

    Problem with bump gauge insert

None of those measurements make any sense even in metric.

    22GT load data

I've used the Forster honed dies a bit, in 223 and 308. I get that once you get it honed for a particular brand of brass (and it's neck thickness) you're somewhat committed. Generally it hasn't been an issue for me - the 0.333 neck in my Forster 308 NM die sets up Lapua brass just fine for a...
