Hornady has the most incredible customer service. I broke a part on my Lock-N-Load AP Powder Measure and Case Activated Powder Drop. I called them up and within a couple of minutes they are sending me not just one, but also a spare at no cost to me! I love this company!!! This is how American...
Re: One-piece Scope Mount Ideas? I wasn't aware that Seekins makes a one-piece mount/rings. Do they have something out there now? I'll check out their website.
Re: TNVC SHOT Show Preview I'm looking forward to more information on this product. While I can buy LE/Military products, I'm not in need of the robustness that drives the cost up.
I want to replace my 2-piece Leupold Mark 4 base and rings with a 1-piece. I'm looking for a quality 20MOA rail and 1-piece mount/rings. The rifle is a Remington 700 in an Accuracy International stock. Throw some quality equipment ideas at me. Budget isn't an issue. Thanks in advance!
Re: Bullet seating consistency? Whose micrometer die do you guys use? I've been thinking of getting one. I'm getting .005 variation with my standard die, but would like to improve on that if possible.
Re: ultrasonic cleaning problem...... I just use distilled water for the rinse and don't add citranox or any other agent. I just get them clean. I'm not too worried about making them shiny. You should notice a difference with the distilled water vs the filtered water.
Re: ultrasonic cleaning problem...... You may want to use distilled water in your cleaning solution and for rinsing instead of tap water. Tap water will discolor brass. I may have OCD, but I tumble them first for about an hour in crushed walnut just to get the tough stuff off, and then I...
Re: Best place to buy a AI AICS Stock I bought my 2.0 from EuroOptics a few years ago. If you are going to travel with it, don't under estimate the savings in size and weight by being able to go with a shorter Pelican Case if you get the folding stock.
Re: CA Remington M700 Carbon One AU John, With the exception of the first two groups out of the rifle (I wasn't used to the setup), the barrel and shooter have settled in and that 'blown' out first shot is inside .525" consistently now. I only shoot 5-shot groups. With the exception of a...
Re: CA Remington M700 Carbon One I've been looking at the AWC Thundertrap in titanium. I'll take a look at the Gemtech as well. Thanks! The jury is still out on the Cerkote. I may end up having it stripped someday and Black-T'd.
A few months ago, I purchased a lightly used Kimber Custom II from a friend. I immediately took the Custom II out to the range and found it to be very accurate. It will probably end up getting used as an IDPA pistol in the near future. The finish was slightly worn, as would be expected, from...
Re: CA Remington M700 Carbon One I realized I didn't give proper credit to my gunsmith whom did a fantastic job of getting her squared up and making some minor changes to DBM. Steven at Woodbrook Sports in Charlottesville, VA is my go-to-guy for all things technical related to my firearms...
Re: CA Remington M700 Carbon One I am content to shoot 300 at the private club or extend beyond on my hunt club's property. To go beyond 300 there usually means shooting down the high power line clearings.
Re: CA Remington M700 Carbon One VASC is a tough nut to crack. I happened to be in the right place at the right time with the right resume and knew the right guy. Last fall, they bumped the membership from 100 to 125. I was number 125. Every year, a few people drop. Those few spots get...
Re: CA Remington M700 Carbon One I'm a member of RRPC outside of C'ville, so I have access to 50, 100, and 300 there. I'm also a member of the VA Sportsman's Club which has around 8000 acres throughout central VA. I can shoot as long distance as I want on a few of the club properties. The...
Re: CA Remington M700 Carbon One I probably didn't post it since I wrote most of that up before I mounted a scope. The rifle, with a M700 SS receiver and SS core barrel weighs 6.5 lbs with the CDI bottom metal. Figure two pounds give or take for the big ass scope. I'll probably swap the...
Living in Central Virginia at the foot of the Appalachian Mountain, specifically the Blue Ridge physiographic province, I find myself in the middle of God’s country. I know…that label gets used quite a bit to describe various parts of the United States of America, and with good cause. Well...
