Help with bolt or maybe gas block?

Re: Help with bolt or maybe gas block? Thanks for the reply! It was superperformance. Do you think the rifle being over gassed could cause it also? It is a new rifle, 80 rounds through it so far. I'll check the headspace too.

Help with bolt or maybe gas block?

What would cause my firing pin to punch a hole on the primer? It's also leaving some good marks on the case. I recently took the bolt apart to clean it and the gun went from under 1 moa to over 2 moa accuracy. I also have a pri adjustable gas block that my be overgassed. I had to adjust it out...

tips on reloading for ar-10 chambered in .308

Besides mag length, do you guys have any advise on reloading for a semi auto rifle in .308? Do I do the same process as with bolt actions? Will the brass from my bolt gun suffice without leaving ejector marks, or should I load lighter on the powder. Thank you for the input.

Re: Las Vegas Precision Tactical Rifle Match RESULTS That was fun for sure! Made me like shooting even more! I appreciate the hospitality specially after I took a shot on someone's turn. Hahaha! The set up was nice and the moving target was badass even though I only hit it once. It was a...

Next Las Vegas Precision Tactical Rifle Match

Re: Next Las Vegas Precision Tactical Rifle Match I'd like to be in too. I've never been to a shooting competition before. I want to see how it's done, and learn from pros! I'll bring ammo and my rifle in case there's a spot for me. Would it be better for me to just watch so I don't hold you...

Update: AccuTrigger -Firing pin is following.

Re: Savage 10 AccuTrig. -Firing pin is following. I'm no expert gunsmith but I had that problem and I'll try to help. Open it up and check the spring on the side of trigger assembly and make sure they're straight and not touching the walls. I also switched to a lighter bolt handle from SSS...

Rifle Scopes Got to see for myself the COUNTER SNIPER SCOPE!

I got to finally check these out in person today. Very nice looking and pretty clear. The guy was nice enough to let me fire off 3 rounds with his gun so I can test elevation adjustment. "Guess what?" It sucks! First 10 moa up was 9 3/4", 2nd was 7 1/4", and 3rd was 11". WTF!

Am I forgetting any essential components?

Re: Am I forgetting any essential components? What you got there is good! Now you'll see the full potential of your rifle. You'll be grinnin' in no time when you're hitting your targets waay down range. Don't forget your chronograph... It'll help you big time with load development. Chrony...

Am I forgetting any essential components?

Re: Am I forgetting any essential components? Lee has excellent customer service too if you break anything. You'll eventually upgrade some stuff as you go. I think the most important on your list is change to the collet die, and get the redding body sizer. I like the Lee neck sizer and use...

    Savage or Remi?

Re: Savage or Remi? If I'm jacking this thread I'm sorry! My buddy just bought a remi in .308 with an A5 stock at the gunshow Saturday. What happened to Remington? It looks like they slapped on the bolt in the action and did not care too much about truing and timing it. We took it out today...

    Berger 185 VLD-308 help needed

Re: Berger 185 VLD-308 help needed I think that the BC on the hunting ones are the same as the target ones. I had a tough time finding a good load for my rifle. (Waisted 200 rounds) In my rifle .01 off the lands or into and they are all over the place. They also like to move at just a tad...

    Help me out

Re: Help me out I used the same die. As noted above, I used a Q-tip to lube the inside, It worked for me. I'm lazy though so I only FL size every 3 reloads.

    Alliant Reloader 17 accuracy?

Does this powder suck or what? Sure I'm getting higher velocities with Berger 185gr. VLDs, but the accuracy isn't where I want it. I've tried them jammed and off the lands and still getting over 1 MOA. What other powders can I try with the VLDs? I guess I can order but mostly limited to what...

    Velocity question

Re: Velocity question I went out and chonographed them again this morning and I'm getting the same velocities, around 2800fps. I thought my chronograph was broken, but when I tested the Bergers with RL 17 the velocities are fine. These are the Nosler Ballistic tips. I'm still getting normal...

    Velocity question

Re: Velocity question That's a huge difference. It was 90 this morning. I'm kinda new to reloading. Does the temps make that much of a difference?

    Velocity question

What would cause my velocity to go up so much faster than the manuals? My manuals says that maximum loads for 180gr. bullets over IMR 4064 is 45.2gr. at 2683fps, @ 44.5gr. I'm getting 2835fps with slight shinny marks on the head. When I did the OCW test I did'nt chronograph the other loads. 44.5...

    Savage Stock Options

Re: Savage Stock Options Another stock option is the Choate tactical ones. They are pretty cheap at $455 and looks waay better than the accustock. I had to do some work to get it to fit properly and shoot as good as the accustock, but it worked. Fits me way better than the factory one and has...
