Vortex Razor 27-6-x85 vs Meopta HD 80

I have the Meopro 20~60 HD. Excellent IMO. I damaged my first one; my fault. Sent it in and they replaced it with a new one at no charge. Couldn't be happier. I have no experience with the Razor.

new trigger for rem 700 .308

Re: new trigger for rem 700 .308 I'll add my voice to those saying that 10 oz triggers are unsafe in the hunting fields. Great on the range but too light for field or woods use. For hunting, a 2-3 pound trigger is better.

Rifle Scopes STOLEN ACOG , PAYPAL are A**HOLES!

Re: STOLEN ACOG , PAYPAL are A**HOLES! Just a thought but has anyone used an escrow agent? They'll charge a fee of course, but that's surely preferable to losing everything plus the aggro that goes with it. If it's at all possible to get Interpol involved, that would seem to me the best...

Rifle Scopes Which one would YOU pick and why?

Re: Which one would YOU pick and why? I have the Vortex Viper 6.5~20x50 with the target dot reticle. $280 delivered from Camera Land: http://www.cameralandny.com/ The 6.5~20x44 is $250 with the target dot reticle. Unless you absolutely need the mil-dot reticle, why spend the extra money...

Standard or heavy barrel 223? Make a Difference?

Re: Standard or heavy barrel 223? Make a Difference? Given the option, I'd opt for the heavy barrel if all else were equal. In general, the HB will do better when shooting enough rounds to heat the barrel up good. The light barrels heat quicker and will often change POI to a greater degree...

    Rifle Scopes Vortex Recon 10 x 50 R/T Review

Re: Vortex Recon 10 x 50 R/T Review Have you considered the Leica Tabletop tripod with a ball head attachment? Certainly NOT cheap but very light and compact. They are renowned for being rock solid. The probably don't have as wide a "footprint" as the tripod that comes with the scope but the...

    barrel heat and damage.

Re: barrel heat and damage. Custom barrels from the most highly regarded makers cost more for a number of reasons, not least being barrel straightness. Factories that turn out large numbers of rifle barrels will, by necessity, employ people who specialize in straightening barrels. Many mass...

Rifle Scopes Tested my new Vortex custom turret.

Re: Tested my new Vortex custom turret. That's impressive. The very small amount of drift right could easily have been due to a slight wind that you didn't notice. That's sub- .5 MOA so your rifle & load are fine tuned too!

    4 groups With .308 700 SPS-V

Re: 4 groups With .308 700 SPS-V I shot more 5 shot groups today and I'm pretty much sold on 42.5 grains of H-4895 and the 168 grain SMK bullet. It turned in a .525" group today and RE-15 was second with a .765" group. Varget and WW-748 didn't do nearly as well as they did yesterday. Maybe...

    4 groups With .308 700 SPS-V

Re: 4 groups With .308 700 SPS-V Thanks to everyone for the encouragement and suggestions. All of them are appreciated. My goal is to shoot .5 MOA groups. I'm under .75 MOA now but the final .020" or so will be a challenge. That RE-15 group has 4 in a tight group but one that blows it. It's...

    4 groups With .308 700 SPS-V

Here are four groups of 5 shots each fired at 104 yards. These are the loads that have showed the most promise with 3 shot groups so I loaded up 10 rounds of each. I only had time to shoot the four groups shown. All four loads show promise. Remington 700 SPS-V .308 in B&C 2A Tactical stock...

Today was a good day...AE arrived

Re: Today was a good day...AE arrived Very nice groups! Once you fine-tune your loads, you're going to have a consistent sub-.5 MOA setup. I'd be interested in knowing your impressions after you've used the Razor scope for awhile.
