Gunsmithing Headspace on a pre-fit question...

I recently assembled a pre-fit on my Bighorn Origin in 6.5 CM. It threaded on smoothly no problems there, very little slop, torqued it to 75lbs. It will not close on the No Go. It will not close on the GO. It will close on a piece of virgin Lapua brass with no resistance. (The gauges...

Copper Creek - Hornady Modified Case...

Just wanted to give Copper Creek Cartridge some props. I needed a .280 Ackley modified case for my Hornady OAL gauge and obviously Hornady doesn't make that one. I emailed Copper Creek to see if they could make one for me if I sent them a piece of virgin brass. Got a quick response that...

    Suppressors Carbon Fiber Suppressors...

Looks like in Europe some companies are manufacturing carbon fiber suppressors. Seems like a good way to keep the weight down to me. For example, the ATEC Carbon 02 is approximately 235 mm (9.25") long and only weighs about 320 grams (11.3 oz), according to their website. See Link...

    Manners EH-4 came in...

Just got the new Manners EH-4 in today for my little "project" hog rifle. I've had several McMs but this is my first Manners and it is very impressive. I haven't seen many pics of the EH-4 around so I figured I would put some up. Obviously, it is extremely light, but very strong. Seems to...

    Todd Jackson, USgunworks contact info?

I was wondering if anybody has a phone number or email address for Todd Jackson? I am having a stock shipped to him from Manners. I've tried sending him a PM here on the hide but haven't heard back from him yet and the stock ships out today. Thanks in advance.

    Primers at Palmetto State Armory...

Don't know about online, b/c the stores are local to me, but I just bought 2 bricks of CCI 200 LR primers from Palmetto State Armory. They had a few more on the shelf, along with a small amount of Winchester LR and several bricks of Winchester LR Mag. They had a good stock of RL powders but not...

    Pro 1600 Slope Edition Rangefinder?

I know this rangefinder is made for golf, but I was wondering if it could apply to shooting. The 1600 ARC appears to be getting good reviews, but I am not crazy about the "bullet drop" info based on generic, preset ballistic settings. The Slope Edition says it has a built in inclinometer and...

Hunting & Fishing New McMillan Long Range Hunting Stock...

Saw this article yesterday. Seems like a pretty cool stock. While it is made by McMillan, sounds like it will only be available through "Precision Stock Works". Reminds me of the MCS-T with the super high comb. http://www.hillcountryrifles.com/publish...ing-Rifle-Stock At the bottom of the...

Hunting & Fishing Browning A-5 makes a comeback...

I've been waiting a long time to see if they would bring back the lovable "humpback". When you grow up shooting one, it's hard to change. Can't wait to try one of these out. For the fellow A-5 lovers out there. http://www.browning.com/library/infonews/detail.asp?id=372

    +1 for Rock Creek Barrels...

I recently bought a Rock Creek barreled action (from Dan at Rock Creek) here on the hide. They were a pleasure to do business with and they make a fine barrel; and the rifle shoots very, very well. Just wanted to give them a big thumbs up. I actually bought the stock from JW Precision, so the...

Gunsmithing Duracoat in the chamber? (long)

First off, let me say that I am no gun smith, know just enough to be dangerous. A buddy of mine has a Sako .300 WSM that he took to a local gunshop to have the barrel and action duracoated. When he got it back we took it to the range to try some handloads. (Before the coating process, this gun...

    WSM priming tool?

I have been loading some rounds for a friends .300 WSM and the case is too big to fit in my Lee Auto Prime. I have an RCBS priming tool that works, but it is a POS. I was wondering what other WSM shooters are using. Worse case, I may take a dremel tool to the Lee and open it up. Thanks in advance.

New Rig, RRA ATH Carbine... Range Report

Finally got her, hope to have a range report after the weekend. Fit and finish on the Rock is outstanding. Weight is not bad at all and it is balanced perfectly. It was well worth the 2 month wait. Hopefully she will like some of the 50, 53, or 55 grain loads I have worked up. BTW, the RRA NM...

    Nosler 7mm SAUM brass...

    Gunsmithing Custom Titanium Action?

http://www.accurateshooter.com/featured/titanium-actions-from-x-treme-shooting-products/ Anybody ever heard of these guys? First I've seen of them, but a custom titanium action has some possibilities for a hunting/tactical rig. Not a bad price either. I would be fairly hesitant to drop that...

    Movie Theater Rubicon...

Anybody watching this show. Unfortunately, it is one you need to watch from the beginning, it would be hard to start in the middle of the season. It has been pretty good so far, a little slow at times. Of course, I love a good conspiracy theory book/movie/show. To me its kind of like wathcing a...
