I have finally decided to get into long range shooting via a FNAR 20" hvy barrel. I have a Bushnell Tactical Elite 6-24x50 on the way for itand I am looking for scope mount/ring recommendations. I would like a railed mount for a Burris Fast Fire for closer shots if I were to ever use it for...
I am considering getting an FNAR for longrange precision shooting. Long range shooting besides basic stuff with a magnified ACOG or a plain red dot is new to me. And yes, I am sticking to a semi-auto, I am not a bolt gun guy, and yes, I know the inherent limitations of shooting long distance...
I recently bumped into a guy with a rather unique knife I am interested in. It is a small fighting knife that he said only two companies made. I cannot remember the names except I think one company had 'pit' in the name. Anyways, the knife sort of resembles a kerambit. It is designed for...
Just a quick plug for Walthers. They are one of the most overlooked pistol companies out there. The P99 is the polymer gun that first brought the interchangable backstraps to the gun market and that was over 12 years ago. The P99AS model, again, a 12 year old design, has the sweetest trigger I...
I just picked up a holster kit from Old Faithful Holsters. I heard about them on Gun Talk Radio. They sell rather cheap (in terms of cost) for you to make your own IWB sort of 'Crossbreed' type holsters. They have different 'levels' depending on the amount of 'finishing' required. The most basic...
I have a bunch of old 1990's issue 782 gear including flaks and helmets, H-harness, ammo pouches, canteens and pouches, shelter halves, pins, poles, etc, etc. Need some ideas for where to possibly donate it. I see little point in selling it
While I have a couple of Gun Mag subscriptions, I really have to say that Gun Magazine reviews are pretty lousy. I am guessing here, but IMHO, Gun Mags are so dependant on gun manufacturer advertising dollars, that they have lost their editorial non-partisanship. Bad reviews are almost unheard...
Anybody ever try this stuff out; http://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/drt-frangible-223-ammo-vs-charging-wild-boar/ Parts of this story sound fishy. They called it 'a charging boar' but then said the shot was from 179 yards.
Not trying to start an internet rumor here, but given the recent shootings, anybody think it is time to purchase some extra hi-cap (more than 10 rounds) mags? As I see it we have two possibilities, both driven by the recent shootings. First, actual legislation taking us all back to 10 round...
I have four rifles (AR, SCAR, HK91) and two shotties. Given a choice between a Millet, Burris XTR, ACOG, Burris Fastfire, CompML3, and a T1, where does the T1 fit? I get it, lightweight, smaller, etc. But what is the 'sweet spot' (utility) of the T1? I picked it up on a rifle that I bought used.
I want to pick up a Mosin Nagant for a cheap accurizing project. Buds has 91/30s for $129, CTD has them for $98. CTD has shipping cost but Buds doesn't. Does it matter who I get it from? Now i need to figure out if I want a scout rifle or a sniper rifle.
