Watch Out for Scammers!
We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!
I depends on how the barrel was shooting when it was pulled. If it was shooting well, it is set aside for the practice rifles. If I was in any way unhappy with the way it was shooting, it goes to the scrap yard.
I shoot open. My post was neither an argument, nor a complaint. It was a statement answering the question below posted by the OP. OP: "I've read a few threads where the Production rifle Division is seen as a joke, but I don't understand why." Response: "The common criticism of the Production...
The common criticism of the Production division in PRS is that the rifles being used (and allowed under the rules) are not what most people would consider a "production" rifle.
What match are you going to? I would recommend finding someone who has shot that match in the past and asking them for advice. For example, if you are going to Clay's Cartridge I would advise that you need to have a rifle cover and be prepared to deal with the Oklahoma moon dust. Range...
Invest in a JTAC class. The cost may seem expensive but it will save you money in the long run. It was one of the best investments I have made in my shooting.
Shooter 2 will actually spend significantly more money on ammunition and related costs in this example. Bullets are just one part of the cost to fire a round. I shoot 105 Hybrids. When I factor in powder, primer, bullet, brass amortization, and barrel amortization, I figure each round fired...
I would consider a pint size heavy fill game changer. Pint size heavy is 5lbs vs. 8.5 on the Schemdium. I have one that I have loaned to smaller shooters in the past with good results. It will be much steadier than the GetLite option.
You should be fine. I have not encountered a stage at Twin Peaks that I was not able to navigate using my Atlas PSR in 5 years of shooting there. It would surprise me if the finale was different in this regard.
"Most are using chassis or foundations." There is a reason for this. If your goal is to get better at PRS then this is the way. I personally went from a McMillan A5 to a Foundation MG2 a couple years ago. It did not make me a better shooter, but it did make certain things easier, spotting...
For PRS I take them off. Best case scenario, they get broken on a prop, worst case you start with them closed. In the rain, they caused more problems than they solved for me (lens would fog up). I carry a full cover that I put on the rifle and scope if conditions dictate it (rain...
Swaro SLC 15x56 is what you will find many of the top shooters using. They are superior to any other binos I have personally looked through. People often look through mine at matches or at the range and comment on how good they are. The only downside is the cost.
Assuming these are real bowling pins and not steel, standing them up on a table and knocking them over is the traditional way. In my personal experience, bowling pins are somewhat prone to ricochets. They also make a mess when they get shot up. For those reasons I retired all my bowling pins...
I made the exact change you are considering (6.5CM to 6GT) a couple years ago. It was a positive change for me. It makes spotting impacts/misses much easier which is a huge part of the game. It is rare that I do not spot my impact or miss with the GT which means I am able to make good...
The first thing I would do is add a mid size, waxed canvas, heavy fill bag. Either a Wiebad Puppy or an Armageddon gear waxed canvas Schmedium would be good choices. Either will provide additional stability on barricades.
If you look at what the top shooters are using, most are using one of the medium sized, heavy fill, waxed canvas bags as a primary bag for barricade support. The AG Schmedium and the Wiebad Puppy and Tater Tot are common selections. Heavy fill and waxed canvas construction being the common...
I would cut the time down to 90 seconds. Forces the shooter to choose between potentially timing out or shooting faster than his abilities and picking up penalty time. Also, 10 seconds per miss might prove excessive. 5 seconds per miss, 10 seconds per failure to impact might be interesting.
I have shot the 7x35 ATACR and the ZCO 5x27 side by side. The light conditions varied throughout the day. In some light conditions I preferred the ATACR, in others I preferred the ZCO. I did like the parallax adjustment better on the ZCO and in heavy mirage the ZCO definitely seems to offer a...
