    300 WM 230gr OAL question

    230 Berger hybrid match bullet. 3.682" OAL. .010" off the lands. CIP length mag made by Accurate Mag. Winchester brass. Federal magnum primers. 74 grains of H1000 at 2775 fps. This is a slightly soft load in my gun but it's very accurate and holds .5 moa. I've run up to 80 grains...

    230gr Hybrid Target

    I ended up at . 010 off the lands and 74.0 grs. of H1000. Velocity is a mild 2740 fps but group sizes are in the .3 inch range. I did test loads up to 75.5 grains and had no pressure signs and was around 2850 fps but didn't test for accuracy with that load. I believe 2900 fps is doable...

    Gunsmithing Bullet is .28" from the lands. What to do about it

    Re: Bullet is .28" from the lands. What to do about it My Criterion barreled Savage .300 WM is the same. I have to seat at 3.604" to ne .020 off the lands. I went with a CIP length Accurate mag system to have a repeater. The gun now shoots 1/2" groups, where it was 1.5" at the 3.4" oal.
