    1st 600yd Target - What’s my Error(s)

Thanks for the advice, all. I’ll admit I didn’t even look at the flags for wind-calling - I was cooking in the sun 😬 I was wondering why some of the coaches were using the ShotMarker app on a tablet AND a spotting scope - now I have a clue! It turns out my left sock full of parking lot gravel...

    1st 600yd Target - What’s my Error(s)

I’ll bet it’s a 24in - do those measure from the rear of the chamber (bolt face) or elsewhere, to the crown?

    1st 600yd Target - What’s my Error(s)

All, not consistent for sure. My 1st at 600yd and 1st with serious mirage. While shooting over grass, the target sometimes almost faded away. With old eyes (63, -7 diopter lenses, astigmatism and presbyopia too) I wasn’t sure if it was me or the mirage - probably some of both. I might be...

    1st 600yd Target - What’s my Error(s)

I left that 308Win part out - doh! And 175gn SMK - doh, doh! Yes, four sighters as I came down from 60 1/4 MOA clicks to 42 to hit. That target schema is what we were using - 6 inch X.

    1st 600yd Target - What’s my Error(s)

My first time shooting past 300yd, at our club’s annual “Shoot what you Brung" Prone Day. I was shooting a Rem700P 308WIN 24in barrel, with SWA 175 SMK and Bushnell 6-24x5- FFP scope, on 20x (glass gets hazy past 20x). The stock is OEM with an adjustable cheek riser added. Sunny, low 90s, very...

Night Vision FLIR PS-32 Software Update

FLIR MS-324 from Amazon ($2399.99) arrived yesterday. Flashed firmware with new software, as recommended by SkyPup, and configured with InstAlert instead of Maritime Red and now it functions the same as a FLIR PS-32 but with a yellow housing. For $600 less than a PS-32.

    Night Vision "budget" thermal feedback

Great - thanks for the information. The obvious difference is the PS32 is olive green and MS-324 is bright yellow, but used in the dark, little difference. OK - maybe more visible to NV and in daytime, but for $600 off I can paint the housing ;-)

so is the Maritime version the same as a PS32 but cheaper? http://www.amazon.com/FLIR-First-Mate-MS-324-Handheld/dp/B005DJTZDQ#productPromotions

Night Vision FLIR PS-32 Software Update

I didn't know the FLIR32 had user flashable firmware. That explains the USB vs batteries.

So what's the markup on a PS32? I've seen them as low as $2600 on ebay and have had luck with eBay Best Offer bids knocking 10% of lowest prices. As an off-the-shelf item, I'm not feeling vendor support is an important aspect, as manufacturer warranty is the main issue.

Night Vision VIS/IR Lasers & White Lights Questions

Thanks for the answer and the into Vic and Eric. Now that I pick through your website I see I'll do well do put my EOTech G33 3x on a TNVC twirst-off mount so I can alternate between magnifier and PVS-14 on the rifle with my EOTech XPS3-4. Ingenious! One question - when you say 1/3 cowitness...

Night Vision VIS/IR Lasers & White Lights Questions

OK - new to NV and just have a PVS-14/helmet system on order (with SF-M1 for helmet-mount). For purposes of indoor/outdoor home defense, and night coyote hunting in the NE, I'll be looking for lasers and lights for a SIG556R (with ACOG 3x30), SIG556 (with EOTech XPS3-4 and 3xMag) and Glock 17...

Night Vision Noob Q on NV for Threat ID/Shooting

So I have a home field of view limited into dark woods on 3 sides and 300yd open road ahead. Three low street lights on the road ahead before an S-turn with woods behind turn and along left side - two other homes on right side of road. I am on high ground looking ahead, with upwards slopes to...
