Competition-Ready Rifle Scope for Training & Matches

https://athlonoptics.com/product/ares-etr-gen2-uhd-1-10x24-atmr3-ffp-ir-mil/ A little over budget at $850-900, but the first gen is $200 cheaper. A great budget entry for Quantified Performance GP class.

PRS Range gear bags for match day

I waited for a 5.11 sale and picked up a Rush 24 pack for about $100. It has a lot of organization is still comfortable with 200 rounds of centerfire ammo, water and a shooting bags in it. Plenty of molle on it to strap a tripod to it too.

Precision Rifle Gear New Athlon Rangecraft Chronograph-Garmin Xero Killer?

Adding an SD card slot, interface, and software adds engineering time and manufacturing costs. That probably 1% of its user base will ever want and half of that will actually use it. Wireless options are cheaper and majority of the populace understands and is quite fluent with already. I agree...

    Precision Rifle Gear Bipods?

Try the Sun n Shadow piece of gear and you'll never go back to messing with paracord again. Paracord is cheap, but having to readjust it, because it stretches gets old really quickly, imo. I should have prefaced it by saying if you compete, ie. Quantfied Performance, the rapid deploy is better.

    Favorite Trainer Round

308 is the best training round. If you can manage that 308 recoil, 6 GT/Dasher/etc. or 6.5 CM is a cake walk after.

    Precision Rifle Gear Bipods?

Accu-tac SR-5. Its sturdy as hell and doesnt jump or bounce, and fast to deploy in competition use. I still mess with a few Harris BRMs, just because I have a drawer full of them, most of them are modded now for arca use with either an Area 419 or a Leofoto pic/arca adapter.

    MIG Welder Questions

The Hobart 140 is a decent home 110v welder and uses some Miller parts internally. I've used one with and without gas shielding to weld 1/8" and 3/16" mild-steel plate for off-roading and target stand projects.

9 missing students found chopped up in Mexico

You'll be safe in Baja, just about no Cartel activity there. I travel to Ensanada and San Felipe a lot being I live 2 hours away from the border and its an amazing place to spend the day driving around eating tacos, 4x4'ing, and camping.

Anyone here using the Hornady A tip bullets? (.308)

How many grains of Varget and what is your barrel length to achieve 2700 fps? I'm thinking about playing with the 168 ELD-Ms to achieve 2800+ fps, it should hit 1k and closer with ease, and maybe be a 5/6mph wind gun.

    6.5 prc Ammo Suggestions

Contact Hornady with the batch number on the ammo and see if it was a bad batch. The action will be fine, but you need to inspect the firing pin for damage. While you're there check the chamber, make sure there isnt a carbon ring or something in the chamber causing an over-pressurization.

Burris XTR2-best scope option for around 500 bucks?

The only negative thing about the XTR IIs, is that they dont produce the 2x-10 anymore.

    Muzzle Brake

They have a 2-port Hellfire that works really nice on 20" rifles. I use it on a 6-arc and its meant to be less punishing to the shooter, since the ports are not directed as back to the rear.

Custom rifle or take the money?

I use the Hornady 80gr VT for coyotes and 105gr for pig. The 80 gr it is very fur friendly just like hornady's v-max. But it is easier to shoot than .223 because it is not effected by the wind as much, with 6 arc requiring only half the wind hold value as .223 does. If you dont read wind well or...

Custom rifle or take the money?

Another vote for the custom 700/Bartlein, 6mm Arc or 223 for coyotes. 6mm cost more but it is soo much more fun compared to 223.
