    Quickload's accuracy and scenars

Re: Quickload's accuracy and scenars I totally understand there is quite the difference in potential BCs, but on paper when you compare .260 scenar vs .308 scenar vs .308 anything else really, each one is a giant step in ballistic goodness. for example, and these numbers are just from...

    Quickload's accuracy and scenars

Re: Quickload's accuracy and scenars I have set up quickload with all my measured variables very accurately, but that vasoline trick is neat. I wasnt looking for a particular answer, it just seemed to me that my velocity prediction was really weak, every load and sig that i see on this site...

    Quickload's accuracy and scenars

I have been toying with some potential 155gr .30 cal scenars in my .308, in quickload that is, and the velocities that it shows that i can get out of my various setups are just plain atrocious, using federal match brass it was stating 2785 fps with a 24" barrel and 44 gr of IMR 4895 at 51k PSI...

    Just another savage...

Re: Just another savage... Yeah, sporting the 24" barrel with a 10" suppressor tacked on, so.. it's pretty lengthy. When I need to re-barrel, I am thinking of going to a 18" .260 Rem.

    Just another savage...

Re: Just another savage... Gladly reporting that the TAB gear sling is just what I needed. I am sure that there is no need on this forum for yet another preaching on how good the TAB gear is, but I picked up the rear bag as well, and both items are of the best quality. Thanks a lot.

Rifle Scopes Hide! Pick out a scope for me please!

Re: Hide! Pick out a scope for me please! I can say +1 for the SWFA 10x fixed, it has been awesome. Would I be happier with a Viper PST... most definitely. Would I be elated to find a S&B on my rifle one day, yup.... but right now i have a SWFA and with the $500 difference between that and...

    Just another savage...

Re: Just another savage... Well, my concern with the sling stems from the fact that I would like to compete in some of the matches like the Mammoth Sniper Challenge coming up in January, so I need to be able to wear a pack with said sling setup, and I don't think that biathlon setups work...

    Just another savage...

So, here we have a basic savage 10 FCP, it's got the obligatory krylon paint as well. Guess it's got a bi-pod too. She looks good I think. My only question is... How do I sling this beast. Clearly, the classic style sling is insufficient. No matter how I try, it is unwieldy and...

    Fieldcraft Rain and Scopes

Re: Rain and Scopes Didn't think to "fight fire with fire" per se, splashing it with some canteen water maybe, I am running an SWFA 10x42... Not nearly as awesome as any USO you may use, but I would like to think that you could rough it up just as much, all the while feeling approximately 10x...

    Fieldcraft Rain and Scopes

Re: Rain and Scopes How is this for your super tacticool water removal idea... Wiper glove! Good stuff, for snowmobiling and skiing and stuff like that... wiper blade is too big for scope use. Just put it on a sweet armored entry tactical breaching glove, ah, sarcasm.

    Fieldcraft Rain and Scopes

Re: Rain and Scopes Lol, that is impressive, I suppose as long as it is clean and can wick away some water, anything goes. And, congrats on the prize.

    Fieldcraft Rain and Scopes

Re: Rain and Scopes The shammy is a good suggestion, part of the idea behind my carrying the lens cloth was for water, but I didn't count on how useless it is at soaking anything up. And, technically shams are meant to be used wet, so it getting soaked with everything else would just speed up...

    Fieldcraft Rain and Scopes

Re: Rain and Scopes You know what, I keep a lens pen in my stock pack as well, but I never considered that it would at all dry the lens, gotta go test that out now... Thanks for the heads up on the flip ups to avoid because that was something I was considering.

    Fieldcraft Rain and Scopes

I live in NE GA, and if anyone else is in this region you may have noticed a torrential downpour this morning. Well, I was up reloading till the wee hours of the morning and when I woke up to rolling thunder I knew it was going to be a fun trip to the range. But to the point, as I laid prone...
