Gunsmithing How do you attach a bipod to RR LAR 8 A4

I purchased a Rock River LAR 8 standard A4 and want to attach a bipod. There is no swivel stud. I was told to drill into the hand guard and install a swivel stud, but I am not sure there is enough metal, or exactly how to do it. etc. Has anyone attached a bipod to this gun? Any thoughts or ideas?
