    Gunsmithing Cerakoting wood?

You can use Cerakote as a base layer for hydro dipping, as well as clear over top. It works as a great combination. As mentioned in your case with wood use C series instead of H

    Gunsmithing Lets Talk Lights

I am currently building a new shop and putting LED strip lighting on the ceiling and all the walls on 4' centers. One of my customers owns an LED company and designed everything for the shop based on the plans and layout to provide great lighting with no shadows from any direction. PM me if you...

    Gunsmithing Lathe Confusion.

For a manual lathe there are better options out there in my opinion. I am currently looking for a second lathe for the shop and have been looking at Mori's and Whacheon's. I have an American made lathe now but needing to do metric threads as well for customers. The Mori's and Whacheons are great...

    Gunsmithing Cerakoting without blasting

As stated prep is absolutely critical with applying cerakote. Make sure and remove all oils as well. A good bath in acetone post blasting should also be done to ensure no remaining oils remain. Handle with gloves so that you do not transfer oils back to barrel after you have removed them.

Close to Ordering a Custom Rifle, But So Many Combinations.......

Action: Bat makes a great action, stiller makes a great action at an economical price. I build 99% of all customer guns off of Defiance and prefer them over the others. Surgeon is no longer selling actions. Barrels: Everyone has barrels that they have built confidence with. I would suggest a few...

    Gunsmithing Removable muzzle brake?

I use the Benchmark brakes for customers that want to switch out to run cans often. They are a threaded brake with a clamp and set screw. They are also one of the most effective brakes I have found. I would rate them right up there in the top 3 or 4 of all brakes I have tried.

    Gunsmithing Clamp on muzzle break

BenchMark makes a great threaded brake that is also a clamp for quick removal. I have built a lot of rifles using everything from Little Bastard brakes, JEC, muscle brakes and many more. I had a customer bring me one of these to put on for him. When test firing the rifle I was really impressed...

Rifle Scopes USO SR8 1-8 Reddot; worth it?

I have considered getting one after handling Knights. Eye relief was good and clarity was as expected. I had no complaints from what I saw handling it after a match. I will probably end up with one before its all said and done. My .02

Suppressors Cheaper alternative to TBAC's thread protectors?

You can always just buy one and use it on the brake that you are shooting at the time. When you look at the cost of even a normal threaded muzzle thread protector I think you will see that that price is very fair. It takes time, material, equipment costs, electricity to turn these out which...

    Suppressors 30P-1 or 30BA for a match rifle ?

I own and have shot both on my match rifles. I have aproximately 6 BA's in the safe and about 10 P-1's in the safe right now. I have also sold a lot of both of them. It is really up to what fits your needs best. The BA offers a lot of benefits such as having the brake on and just screwing the...

Gunsmithing cut VS. button rifled barrels..........the truth!

As for the chrome lined FN barrels I can bring a little info here. I own a FN and shot out a 300WSM FN SPR barrel. The 300 WSM chrome lined barrel performed very well at 1/4 MOA for the life of the barrel. Barrel was shot primarily with a can, shooting a lot of really hot strings, pretty much...
