Watch Out for Scammers!
We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!
Did anyone else have issues with a gritty feel during extraction? Happy with how the rifle shot but certain rounds (FGMM 140 / Hornady 147) felt like they really dragged coming out.
We had an inexplicable wandering zero on a friends rifle - we had mounted the scope, rings torqued tight, blue locktite, Nightforce scope and rings, just couldn’t get to the bottom of it. Ultimately right before sending the rifle back to Christensen we found the screws from the action to the...
Did you try it without the mandrel just doing .003 of neck tension vs .001? Sometimes guns like more tension. Also how did you get to the powder charge? I’d try a ladder for ES there too, maybe a small adjustment burns more consistently.
Just had a set of Aadland caps deliver Saturday - I ordered them on 3/9, didn’t get any communication between the order notice and the ship notice on 3/23. Caps looked great when they arrived!
RL26 ran some wildly fast numbers for me in 6.5 with no pressure signs, although out of a 22” barrel with a Sandman L. Worked up load was 2850 with a 140 Hybrid. Book max shot 2925 although the primer looked like an accident waiting to happen. Berger stated over the phone their max was 2917...
Just finished my CDG build - going down from a handful of centerfire rifles to one (just had a kid, budget and time constraints) so I tried to build a good do-all rifle. I originally was going to build a full out XM3 clone but decided to make a few technological upgrades along the way while...
What magazine setup are you using? I had a .050 jump with a Saami reamer and 245 Bergers at CIP+ detachable mag length (3.850). 230s I forget the exact measurements but it was still a solid jump. 245s shot great though. Ended up shooting best at a .100 jump.
MK12 Mod H style upper. Shoots about 3/4” with BH Match 77, good for an AR. Approx 1,500 rounds on barrel (mostly slow fire) rifling is crisp and with no major wear on internals. Full photos with scope shown, pricing is for upper only. Scope will be posted on hide separately. Have a 7 month...
In that case, less rifle is more. I got rid of my 300 PRC because I never got to dial more than 5 mils of elevation on it. I have more fun with my Vudoo at 200-300 yds than I do with my centerfire rifles under 800. Even a 223 might not really challenge wind reading and let you spin the dials at...
Now that is a serious setup! What timeframe? I have a friend whose an old timer from the range, and it just blows me away how much harder they had to work in the 90s - hand loading everything on neck turned brass, etc. The level of factory accuracy and convenience (prefits, match ammo) just...
It depends if you’re in it for the achievement in or in it for the joy of it. I don’t have a trophy case worth a damn but I don’t think I’ve ever wasted a minute behind a rifle, and the friends I’ve made along the way have greatly enriched my life. If you’re looking for achievement - there...
I missed a $450 PSL with scope in 2008. It might as well have been $4500, as broke as I was at the time. I still kick myself for not scraping the funds together.
McMillan has the action specific inlet for the CDG if you want a traditional stock. They make a massive ejection port cut to match that big ejection port perfectly.
For peak accuracy, that $200 is better spent elsewhere. I’ve seen triggers, stocks and barrels do more to improve practical accuracy than anything else. ARs are hard to hold and shoot compared to a bolt gun and mechanical accuracy (those great groups people post online usually come off a rest)...
