Do I really have this much to learn

So...have been precision shooting rimfire for about 5 years now. Been through a number of guns, right now have a heavy barrel Savage in .22WMR that is a consistent 1" at 100m. Stepped up this year to centerfire. Bought myself two guns...a Sharps in 45-70, just 'cause I've watched Quigley Down...

    Probably a stupid question....

So...been shooting precision rimfire for a few years now. Had good success with a Savage with Harris bipod and TAB rear bag...the squishable kind. Upped the ante this year and stepped into centerfire...nothing extravagant...a Mossberg Nighttrain with one of the new Nikon tactical scopes. So...

    Ray Bans??

So, I've just received a pair of Ray Ban Aviator glasses from my sons for my birthday. Just wondering. They've glass lenses. I'm a little concerned about using them for shooting (which is what they purchased them for). Glass shards in the eye doesn't sit well with me. Can't really find...

Finally got a proper shooting vehicle :)

Okay, after two kids (now 10 & 13) and the resultant minivans...three in the last 13 years it seemed proper to get a proper shooting vehicle now that they are out of the cars seats and there are no more home reno's in the foreseeable future. So after a lot of shopping last week we picked up a...

Suppressors I am so damn jealous

I'm from Canada, eh! Where NO ONE can own a suppressor. Last weekend I spent an afternoon shooting with one of my clients, our local police dept tactical team (I supply photo equip to our dept). Got to shoot their suppressor equipped Steyr .308. I WANT ONE!!

    Your guys rock!!

I've struggled for a year with the Savage 93FVSS I purchased last year. Started out shooting 2.5" groups at 100m (110ys). I'd hoped or better, though I started to read that this wasn't all that bad from the WMR cartridge. Well...a year later and a better scope (Hawke Tactical), decent bi-pod...

    Is this the wind?

I've a Savage 93FVSS (.22WMR) that on a pretty consistent basis shoots 1.25" at 100m. So this weekend I was getting 2" and a bit groups with a wind of 20mph gusting to 35mph blowing at right angles. Is a .22WMR affected this much by wind. I'm hoping the answer is yes!!

Would I just be wasting my money??

Coyotes out to 150m with a .22WMR. I'll be shooting in hilly country. At 150m would there be enough angle to consider an angle cosine indicator? Or is it just a waste of $150.

    Hearttbeat

Don't know if this is the appropriate place to ask...but it is rimfire related. So, I've got a fairly stock Savage 93FVSS (WMR). Have adjusted the trigger down to 2.5lbs, have all screws torqued to spec and installed a Nikon M-223 2-8x scope and Harris bi-pod. I've got it shooting about 1.4" at...

Okay...one of those embarrasing newb questions

Purchased a Savage 93FVSS or myself and two Marlin XT-22's for my two young sons this spring. Come from 10 years of competitive air rifle shooting (been 20 years since I touched a powderburner). So here's the 'newb' question. It is verboten to leave a spring powered air-rifle cocked for extended...

    I have a 12yr old...

that really wants to up the ante from his pellet rifle. Any advice on a .22 bolt action that won't break the bank? I'm thinking I want to keep it under $250. My criteria would be: -NOT a single shot. -open sights (with the provision of a scope) I know this is really open ended...I've looked...
