    The Fix from Q

For 6.5 Grendel 16-18" barrel in medium contour would be best to maximize handiness and capitalize on the weight savings of the mini-Fix vs the Fix. This would also make it different from the 224v which needs a longer barrel to truely shine. Such 6.5 Grendel setup would be sufficiently different...

    The Fix from Q

Are you sending in just the bolt or the whole gun. My bolt seems to work fine, but I am curious what the process is.

    The Fix from Q

The 20” barrel is 3.5 oz lighter than 22”, so you figured correctly. Shot my 22” today, very impressed. Shot well with the cheapest ammo I had, Hornady gun runner 140gr. Only tried this ammo. Trigger is very crisp and consistent, but not as light as some like. Bolt lift on mine is not hard...

    The Fix from Q

I picked mine up earlier this week, haven't shot it yet. They are coming.

That's the serial on the rifle, right? What was your order number, if different? Thanks.

    The Fix from Q

1040 or 0040. I thought the preorder was supposed to be 500 rifles, yet we see invoices > 1000. Just currious if they started with 1 or 1000 for their order numbers.

Thank you for the reply. It makes perfect sense, just wanted to know if the two configurations felt significantly different to you, as far as weight and balance are concerned. Sounds like 24" proof and 22" bartlein felt similar to you.

    The Fix from Q

Thank you for your overview. Please share your thoughts once you shoot it. One quick question, you said that 22” 6.5 bartlein barrel was too heavy, did you try the rifle with that barrel? According to Q, 6.5 22” configuration is supposed to be about 7lb, so about 1lb heavier than 16” 308. Just...

    The Fix from Q

Agreed. Also, some "real world" reviews from the few people that got the rifles. Hopefully this will be remedied as more people receive their rifles. It sounds like a few more rifles have been shipped out.

    The Fix from Q

The whole thread turned a bit silly because of a couple of guys not interested in the rifle due to it not meeting their specific requirements. On the bright side we got some more info about the rifle, future plans and current production challenges, so not a total waste.

    The Fix from Q

I was told $750 as well for 16" light 308. I preordered Feb 1 and still waiting, so they are a "bit" late... To be honest I expected them to be late, it seems like in this industry it is rare to see on time deliveries. What bugs most people is the lack of communication. I think just by answering...

    The Fix from Q

You do? Not possible! They are wrong magazines, throw them out. As the matter of fact the whole rifle is crap since the magazine is clearly all wrong. Now, if the magazine was 0.03" longer, that would change everything....

Congrats Dave. Looks amazing. How will you be able to do any work, with all the fishing you could be doing?

    The Fix from Q

I apologize if I misunderstood. They are doing something innovative within the realm of bolt rifles. It is still a bolt gun, so not fundamentally different from any other bolt gun. It will not be perfect, it will not replace every other rifle. If they can execute and deliver what they promised...

    The Fix from Q

Any factory ammo will fit. Only very heavy or exotic bullets might have an issue, but since you are hand loading these you can adjust. You are saying the rifle will not be successful and is not future proof specifically because of the magazine they chose to use. I have a very hard time believing...

    The Fix from Q

I would be curious to know the percentage of AI rifles and barrels that are sold in short magnum calibers, specifically WSM, since these are presumably the ones that wouldn't fit without adjustment. Magazine is not the only problem though, at the moment the bolt head also can't support short...

    The Fix from Q

Not arguing with the fact that someone buying this rifle can afford AICS mags, but what specifically is wrong with magpul mags, the COL is a bit less. MagPul AR308 mags are cheaper, more available and reliable. The success of this rifle will not be due to the mags it uses. Is anyone seriously...

    The Fix from Q

The preorder price was ~$2800. The innovative parts are the weight of the whole rifle, the bolt and trigger designs, etc. The rifle is pretty unique and different. I don't think anyone is denying this. It seems that most complaints are the attitude, lack of details, and paying upfront the full...

    The Fix from Q

I can see that as an issue. These are very different rifles though. Price is similar, but Qs rifle is supposed to be very light and handy in comparison to AI, etc. Even with the heavier 22" 6.5 Creedmoor barrel it is around 7lb unloaded. I am sure it will be very precises given the barrel, but...
