    Protection dogs ?

Handling dogs, one has to learn patience. Or risk getting his ass bit. I've seen a lot of dogs shut down as well from too much unneeded pressure

    Protection dogs ?

Good way to look at it. I pretty much got out of the Border Collie game after competing with several ass hats and fools. The best was when using my dog to set sheep at a trial for the competitors, I had a guy crawl my ass cause his dog stopped during his run to sniff where my bitch had pissed...

    Protection dogs ?

Bought an 18 month old GSD in December. He wasn't cheap, but so far we're thrilled with him. He is steady, willing to try anything I ask of him. Wherever the boys are outside he is and he's always watching. The main reason we have him is to help with my 4year old who has autism. Right...

    The 26 Nosler??

I'll stick with my 264win Mag for hunting 140gr at 3000fps is plenty good. 6.5CM will stretch a loooooooooooooong way carrying a 140gr almost 1500yds supersonic with a muzzle velocity of around 2750-2800. Now if I was a fellow with money to burn.......... No skin off my nose if someone wants...

    Kaboom at Manatee today!

Those were my thoughts, a resizing problem. My Springfield M1A supermatch will only function reliably if I crunch the brass to hit the bottom of the drop gauge. Never had trouble with a savage that I didn't cause, I've had sticky bolt lift on loads that I knew were mild but I had only been...

    Savage 12 LRP 260 for a 8yr old??

I picked up my 6 yr old son a Savage Model 11 youth this year for his first deer season, went with 7mm-08, he's no long rage shooter but he can connect at 70 yds with a rest.

Why did Marines go from M70 Win to M700 Rem?

Own to new M70 Classics - 2012 built .264 Win Mag, Featherweight, and 2013 built .257 Bob Featherweight, they are the finest out of the box light rifles I have ever shot, the 264 blew me away shooting 3/4" 3 shot groups (I know its just three but this is a pencil barrel) at 150yds with Nosler...

    Stuck savage ejector

It's so tight I cant drive the pin out. Zero play on the ejector. I think it's toast. Got it soaking in penetrating oil, gonna try and shout it loose on Wednesday when I'm off work. Good luck finding Savage parts right now too.

    Stuck savage ejector

Working up loads on my bolt gun today and managed to pop a primer and stick my ejector. Any help on getting her loose? I have a spare ejector in my hand with a spring and pin on the way from Numrich. I've disassembled the bolt and have her sitting in a puddle of PB blaster. Think I might have to...

    Chassis's ???

Check out PDC Custom, they were one of the few that could fit a Savage long action <a href="http://s94.beta.photobucket.com/user/bjfergpls/media/shooting/IMG_0613_zps46100cbd.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l92/bjfergpls/shooting/IMG_0613_zps46100cbd.jpg"...

    Atlas Bipod advice

Re: Atlas Bipod advice I just bough the screw clamp version from Mile High, ordered it on the 26th had it on the 31st. Not bad considering a weekend in there. The QD lever would be nice, but I only took my Harris off once in two years so I figured it wasn't worth $70 to me

    Range Design

Re: Range Design I helped build one this past summer You need some of these and one of these So you can build your backstop 30ft high like this as well as full length 10ft sideberms, then dig out the face 4ft deep and 10ft high and place 1/4" minus limestone to catch the bullets

Sidearms & Scatterguns wife self defense weapon...

Re: wife self defense weapon... I bought my wife a compact Glock, she never carried it, didn't like the concept of the Glock's action and no visible safety. I brought home a S&W model 40 lemon squeezer 38special +P. She handled it for 5 minutes and said I want it. She feels more...

    Stock questions

Picked up an older (flat back pre-accutrigger) savage 7mm Rem Mag for $150 last year, changed out the bolt face and put a 1:9 Shilen 280AI barrel on it. Not knowing how well it would shoot and not having a lot of money to blow I put it in a Boyd's thumbhole laminate. Well it shoots and now I'm...

    Getting the M1A bug

Did some trading this week for a M1A Std. This has always been on my list of firearms to own. Well the local shop got one in and I knew it was going home with me once I saw it in person. Took it to the range today just to play. Had a bunch of XM80 I had picked up on sale really just for...
