Night Vision Scan w/ IR - Shoot w/ NV

I have read in several different places that many night hunters scan w/ Infra-Red then shoot w/ Night Vision. Can anyone explain why this is a preferred method?

Gunsmithing Savage work by Kevin Rayhill?

Re: Savage work by Kevin Rayhill? Kevin built a long range hunting rifle for me and guaranteed it would shoot 1/2 moa. It is the most accurate rifle I have ever shot, he delivered ! Only good gunsmiths will make such a guarantee. If you have any questions just call him.
