My only objective with looking at the es was to see the shift as the barrel got hot. It’s 4 strings with the same charge weight yet the first ladder was drastically different than the other 3. The flat spot when cold was 58.1, had I just loaded that one I’d be looking there. But if you look at...
The rifle is a defiance tenacity with a bartlein 24” 1:7.5tw carbon wrapped barrel that was built by Marc at Spartan Precision rifles. Shoots factory hornady at 1/2moa with a es of around 20fps so I am definitely happy with it so far. I live in Comifornia so I have to hunt with copper and...
CA is outlawing hunting with lead of any kind by the end of 2019 I believe and already has started implementing it in certain areas. I am wondering if anyone has had any luck with a solid copper bullet for hunting in a 6.5 creedmoor? I know people...
Just had a 6.5prc built and it’s probably in the 14lbs range but I plan to hunt with it and want a comfortable sling. It’s in a Manners PRS1 stock with QD’s. Any suggestions?
Just got my rifle done with a 24” 1:7.5tw varmint contour chambered in 6.5prc from Spartan Precision Rifles. Going to have the action, barrel shank, muzzle and brake cerakoted tomorrow and then put some rounds down range next weekend. Barrel is gorgeous. A bit heavier than expected but it’s a...
This is my first custom build, pretty stoked on how it’s turning out so far. Barreled action was done by Marc at Spartan Rifles in CA. -Defiance Tenacity -Bartlein 24” 1:7.5tw, carbon wrapped varmint contour -6.5prc -PVA Jetblast brake -Triggertech 2-stage special -Manners Elite PRS1 in GAP...
I was debating between the two as well and ended up going with the XRS for a couple reason unrelated to glass. First the XRS has a locking windage turret, second I just really like a floating dot and the cronus is a cross hair center. Last and not nearly as important is I wont keep this optic...
That ZC sure is nice but for me and for that rifle I would be looking one of the 1-10 lpvo or even the S&B 1-8. Great shtf optic and you don't need more than 8x to engage man size targets to over 600.
Funny this was resurrected as I posted it a couple years back. I ended up with the drm2 and the g3 reticle. Worked great, loved the scope. Then I got a eotech 5-25 with the md3 reticle and ran that for a bit over a year on my 6.5cm and loved it. Problem is that I am stuck using the floating dot...
I ended up getting that XRSii with the h59. I liked my dmr2 a lot so this should keep me happy for a bit. Only down side is that at 37oz it’s heavier than I would like.
Why is that? Been looking at mk5 but like the added magnification from the nx8 on the top and bottom end. Cronus is out due to lack of locking windage.
Problem I have with the Cronus is the lack of locking windage turret. This is a rifle I’ll hunt with some so I’d like to be able to lock the windage down. This is also a temporary optic as I’ll be putting an nx8 on it most likely.
