Forster Co Ax the right step for my knowledge/situation?

I have nothing against progressives, but let me add this; I still use my lnl classic for pistols. I just got 1k rounds from gpz today at 3pm when the mail ran. It's already all deprimed, sized, cleaned, and about 30% are expanded. While I agree it won't be fun doing 13k rounds up front, when is...

RCBS Chargemaster or other electronic powder scales/dispensers

Never played with the CM, but my route is a hornady throw that I DO NOT throw in the case, I throw it on the scale (in a pan), then pour to the case. Tad slower, but cheap and works for when it REALLY want it EXACT.

Gunsmithing First project on new lathe

I've been looking for a decent priced lathe to play with. Only thing I can find for less than 2k is from harbor freight.

Single or progressive press for long-range reloading

I use my LnL classic for everything, LR or not. Some complain about the time, but I rather enjoy sitting at the press depriming until I get bored, toss it in the cleaner, come back and size/prime until I get bored, come back and load/seat until I get bored. This way I can ensure I see every part...

    .308 blank reloading.

Ok, I dug and dug, nothing. I've found everything I need, except for the crimp die. Anyone have an idea other than CH tool and die? I'm not against that option, other than I'm having a hard time wanting to pay $85 for a single crimp die. FYI, we are not talking M82 blanks, talking short necked.

    Hunting & Fishing Fn 5.7?

It is INSANE, that .50BMG is cheaper than 5.7, of course some idiot on gun broker has listed PMC 660g for $95 a box, I listed a reply that anyone that wanted to pay $95 a box I would sell my case at $38 a box, he sent me an email that had more 4 letter words than 5 letter words.

    Hunting & Fishing Fn 5.7?

I grabbed a 5.7 upper with 2 mags before this whole "omg guns are bad!" bs... Love it, but worst timing ever. I can feed my .50 before I can feed my 5.7.

Hunting & Fishing Why are pigs considered an environmental problem?

http://m.youtube.com/user/richpotts007 I'll try to get him to upload more recent vids, but what can I say, I pull trigger make gun go boom.

Hunting & Fishing Elk hunting caliber

.270 and .308 have always done well by me. I have gone 300wm once, it worked, but it was probably more than I needed to spend.

    Hunting & Fishing Hunting scope?

For deer around here I use a leupold 3-9. Fairly cheap and still more than I need around here

Hunting & Fishing Shotgun hunting hog.

My best advices, hunt the areas you can use slugs. I hunt pigs for a living and have watched them run off after taking several body shots from .30 cal weapons, if you can't hit it in the head, or guarantee a both lung shot, you are just wasting ammo on something you won't find.

Hunting & Fishing Why are pigs considered an environmental problem?

Afghan, yeah the prices suck, especially when you see what the buyers sell them for ($300 for 2 sets of ribs), but that's why ranchers love us, we don't charge them the 800+ an hour it costs to keep to keep the 500 in the air, and we get stupid results. Point and case, we flew 2.9 hours this...

Hunting & Fishing Why are pigs considered an environmental problem?

I was going to try to post a vid of a flight or two, but havn't figure how to shrink it from 2gigs. Have no issue emailing someone if they think I'm full of it. People have told me we can't CATCH pigs from a helicopter, after we placed second in the state during the hog out program, people...

Hunting & Fishing Why are pigs considered an environmental problem?

Sean, it is great fun, I most certainly don't want to bash any of the operations you listed, but R-44s are tiny. If your interested some time, shoot me a message, I can promise you it is NOWHERE NEAR 5.5k for a day, and we use an MD500. Also, it is ILLEGAL to sell or transposrt a live feral hog...

Hunting & Fishing Why are pigs considered an environmental problem?

The pigs generally go overseas, apparently our "problem" is a delicacy for others. We put a net on them, then tie them up. As for how much we get, that varies by size and season, but generally between next to nothing and pocket change, the key is bulk, and that's what the helicopter is good for...

Hunting & Fishing Why are pigs considered an environmental problem?

Because if we just shoot them, we have to charge the land owner to pay for operations costs, most ranchers can't afford a helicopter that burns 20gallons of jp4 every 45min, plus maintnence and crew, so we capture them, and sell them, so the rancher reduces a problem without the insane cost of a...

Hunting & Fishing Why are pigs considered an environmental problem?

If you have a hog problem, get your neighbors together, and give me a shout. Not some idiot hunter. Liscenced, state permits, and insurance, we capture them (not shoot them) from a MD500

    Equipment for a beginner ?

Not to drag up something too old, but maybe some advise from a slightly experienced newbie. I've been using the hornady lock Nolan classic for about 8 months. Mostly .223 and .45. It isn't the fastest route in the world, but ensured that I payed attention to EACH step as I learned the basics...

    Rifle Scopes S&B PMII

Re: S&B PMII Sorry for the latency in response, been a busy busy time. As it turns out, we cracked a lense, and somehow the windage turret was turning one way, but would not turn back the other way. I guess thats what happens when you put it in an old 1950 case and toss it out of the truck a...

    AR 10 & AR15 ?

Re: AR 10 & AR15 ? I agree with all of the above to an extent, although I will say, if you are shooting pigs about 20 yards with an AR15 it really doesn't matter.
