Help deciding on chassis for Tikka T3x

That’s pretty much the final form I think. Weight should be between 16 and 17 lbs. The Vision chassis is massive, the part between the mag well and the barricade stop is solid. It’s super stiff and very comfortable to get behind. Now I have to wait just another week to be finally able to shoot it.

Help deciding on chassis for Tikka T3x

Btw, I ordered the vision chassis. Probably arriving tomorrow. Once I installed the barrelled action, I’ll post some pictures. Thanks for the help, guys!

Help deciding on chassis for Tikka T3x

The HNT26 is a very lightweight and quiet Chassis indeed. For light rifles perfect. I used one for some time with a Bergara Extreme in .308. For heavier barrels, I don’t like the balance and the fore end attachment is probably to flimsy to withstand 16+ lbs rifles being handled roughly.

Help deciding on chassis for Tikka T3x

I saw the video about it today. It will probably be half a year until they arrive in Europe and I’m afraid to see the price of all the individual parts. The general concept looks interesting though, might be a good chassis for a short hogs and wood rifle I need to build.

Help deciding on chassis for Tikka T3x

I’d love to get an ACC folder, they don’t offer it for Tikka long actions though. Otherwise it would be my first choice. The one ACC (non folder) I handled last year was a dream to shoot and I even liked the butt stock. The Hnt26 is great, too. I had one for a Bergara Extreme Hunter back when...

Help deciding on chassis for Tikka T3x

Help deciding on a chassis for Tikka LA Good morning guys, Some context first: I’ve been hunting and shooting for about 20 years, mostly short range, never exceeding 300 m. I’m from Germany, ranges are scarce around here and anything above 300 m is almost impossible. Over the last years...

Rifle Scopes ZCO Hunter scope at the IWA event

First hunt with it, zeroed it yesterday, worked fine, turrets are a pleasure. It seems to be a good general purpose scope. I don’t have ranges over 150 yards here, tomorrow will be a driven hunt, I use a thermal clip on for wild boar (adapter didn’t arrive in time though). For longer work I use...

Night Vision The Official: Steiner C35 Thermal Clip-on Review and User Thread!

I used the Steiner and a Krypton 2 50 mm Clipon for the last 2 weeks extensively. Both are used with a Buris RT6 and Rusan Modular Adapters. Both are quite nice for identification of wild boar and roe deer. The latter I’m not allowed to shoot with it though (local regulation). The Steiner...

Night Vision The Official: Steiner C35 Thermal Clip-on Review and User Thread!

I got a chance to buy a new C35 Geb 1 for 1900 $. Is that a good price and is it still worth it? My original plan was to save up for another few months and get a Pulsar Krypton.

    Tikka T3 Thread

Hey guys, I need the omniscient rifle hive minds help. Has anyone had trouble with feeding cartridges longer than 3.4“ in a T3x? I’m getting my T3x rebarreled. Chamber will be a .30-06 again and I’m thinking about having the gunsmith cut the throat long for 212 gr ELD-X at 3.45“ oal. The MDT...

MDT introduces the HNT26! A 26 Ounce Carbon Fiber Hunting Chassis.

It was in stock at a German company specialising in long range classes. I called asking when it would be available and they had one stock left from their first order. I got lucky I guess. The Arca rail is from MDT, this one, in 3.3“ length. The mini rail works quite well with my tripod, hasn’t...

MDT introduces the HNT26! A 26 Ounce Carbon Fiber Hunting Chassis.

Thanks! Bergara B14 Extreme Sporter in .308 Win. Rather light, fluted stainless barrel, 18“ in length. Comparison with a Bergara HMR Barrel. Weight of the barrelled action, 3,4 pounds.

MDT introduces the HNT26! A 26 Ounce Carbon Fiber Hunting Chassis.

The green looks amazing, I should have probably waited for it to become available. Had to pull the trigger on an in-stock black one though 😁 4,9 kg ~ 11 pounds including silencer and night vision.

    Begara quality

I just bought my second Bergara HMR, this time in 308. Several acquaintances have them, too. I haven't seen any issues with them, barrels were all torqued down, bolts are running fine and they plain shoot. They are 25 % less expensive than Tikkas, too and the HMR comes with a decent stock...

    Hunting & Fishing 375 wsm

The .375 H&H holds about 15% more powder. To get the same velocity you have to increase the chamber pressure, the.375H&h already has a max pressure of 62k psi. I'm not sure if that's a good thing in a DG rifle, when extraction might be important, especially in a hot climate.
