Trimming for accuracy

All: I've got once fired Lapua .223. It was trimmed to start. I've resized them, and they're within 3-4 thousandths length wise. Do I need to trim? I'm shooting these to develop a load for my LaRue OBR. Just wondering if there is a significant difference in accuracy with brass tolerances...

Re: SWFA SS-HD 5-20x50 vs. Nightforce Any update on the comparison yet? I am also anxious to find out if this thing is worth $1k.

Atlas bipod, to lever or not to lever

Re: Atlas bipod, to lever or not to lever I waited what seemed like forever! It was right around the 10.5 week mark. Once I got it though, I was so amazed at the quality. It's worth the wait, without a doubt!

How to tell when you've found the "right powder"

Re: How to tell when you've found the "right powder" Jim: He's probably late 40's. Does lots of work for military, and PALMA. I know he's had at least two national championship guns in the past 5 years at 1000 yds. The guy is very good. Regardless, it is possible that I didn't...

How to tell when you've found the "right powder"

All: I got a great load worked up for my OBR using VARGET with 70 Grain VLD's. I don't think that's the right powder for that gun, based on what my gunsmith told me once. I wanted to get your opinion on this. He told me that with a precision rifle, the right powder will actually get...

Great problem with the H-S Precision rifle.

Re: Great problem with the H-S Precision rifle. I have to agree with some others here. Put yourself in HS's shoes. I've got a rifle out there that has had a catastrophic, potentially deadly failure. Period. I WANT that rifle back whatever the cost...

    Cant Decide which 308AR Variant

Re: Cant Decide which 308AR Variant I am having one built locally by an amazing gunsmith, so I can relate to the wait. That said, I did see yesterday that Lowlight shot the GAP one and his second group was < 3/8". That's impressive.

Turn necks w/ a Redding S FL Bushing Die for .223?

Re: Turn necks w/ a Redding S FL Bushing Die for .223? Hi Doc. . . Unfortunately my range is only 200 yards. I would like to go to 500 someday with this gun if possible. I guess since I am brand new to accuracy shooting, I don't have a real idea what I am capable of to give you a group...

Turn necks w/ a Redding S FL Bushing Die for .223?

Re: Turn necks w/ a Redding S FL Bushing Die for .223? Gotcha. So from this, is it safe to infer that a S FL die is overkill for a Wylde chambered AR where necks don't need to be turned? The regular FL die has the expander ball, and no bushings. Sounds like what I need. Wonder how much...

Turn necks w/ a Redding S FL Bushing Die for .223?

If I'm going to use a Redding S FL Bushing Die to resize Lapua brass for my AR15, is neck turning a requirement? Has anyone done any comparisons between turning necks and not turning them? I am brand new to reloading for accuracy. Thanks!
