    50BMG velocity issues

Thank you. I spent a couple weeks prepping the brass. Some was rifle fired and I separated it from the MG fired. Uniformed the pockets, deburred the flash holes, etc. Bought a Giraud trimmer head and several other tools that have come in handy. I also annealed the necks just to make sure...

    50BMG velocity issues

Thank you. This is an older model AR50. By my OAL measurements the max OAL for the 750's is 6.00 +/- 10 thousandths. As a comparison, max OAL for Barnes TSX647's is 5.856 +/- 10 thous. I will go back and confirm these numbers based on your based on your observation.

    stuck on chest

Back in my youth I worked out with many power lifters and learned several things. The most important thing I learned was that heavy auxillary lifts helped me more than anything especially when I hit the wall on benches. I would skip heavy benches for a couple of weeks and do heavy back, delt and...

    Older guy needs help

Turned 60 last week, was laid off in June and have time on my hands until I find another job. Have been taking grandson to tae kwon do since Feb. Yesterday I signed up for 8 weeks and started. I started tae kwon do in 1968, did four years. Went to Goju Shorin for 4 years and bounced around dojos...

    AW/AE/AICS mag diffrences

As my luck would have it, I have AW mags and they obviously will not fit up to a Model 700 action With a Surgeon Bottom Metal as the feed lips are too long. Are there any options on modifing them?

    aics style magazine

How many styles of AICS mags are there? I purchased an A5 R700sa stock from a Hider with a surgeon bottom metal. It came with 4 AICS mags I assumed were 308. They will not completely seat, can't strip a round and the lips on the mags are longer than a CP mag that I have that fits and strips the...

223/223AI best powder, (almost) 2013 edition

Need some suggestions for 223AI loads for an upper I just had re-chambered. Barrel is roughly a 1/12 twist. I have 40 grain V-Max and Sierra 52 grain HPBT to start with as well as other basic 55 and 60 grain bullets. I pretty much have all standard 223 powders on hand but do not have H335 which...

F T/R Competition Getting started in F-TR in NC ???

Another thing is don't overthink the situation. Have a solid 100 yard zero and your shooting partners should be able to get you on paper in 3 shots or less. Also a if you can afford a puller by all means do it. It makes shooting a lot more fun when you don't have to rearrange your life after a...

    progessive reloaders

Thanks for all the info and I can now report that all is well in progressive loader world. Switched to RCBS TC dies, I keep the powder thrower full, etc. Moving from 45's to 9's and 40's now.

    progessive reloaders

I'll give it a try. I'm also going to change out the Lee dies to an RCBS set with a taper crimp instead of a roll crimp. Maybe this will help with the problems of inconsistant chambering. Welcome to the new year...........

    WC867 for 50BMG

Primers were extremely flat as compared to fired factory PMC, Federal A/E and Hornady. I'm going to order some H50bmg and some Reloader 50 and work up some new loads. I'm also going to get a bullet sizer and resize the sized bullets. Last night I took the 6 fired pieces of surplus LC brass...

    progessive reloaders

Thanks for the ARcom link. I cleaned all the pieces with brake cleaner before I put it together. I'll go back and do it again. I also had a baffle in it but don't have enough powder in the cylinder to come up to the baffle. I try not to pour out any more than I plan on using. I was using 6.5...

    WC867 for 50BMG

Upon advice from some folks on the 50BMG web site I loaded up some 660 pulls from Pat's using 210, 215 and 220 grains of WC867 from Widners. Saturday the 210 charge showed pretty bad pressure issues at the primer so the test was terminated. Rifle is an AR50, brass is LC07, primers are CCI35's. I...
