New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Not side by side, but I demo’d an RH25 v2 and what I had budgeted for to purchase. Stumbled upon the Athlon and for 1/2 price plus LRF decided was the better option. For my needs I think I made the correct choice.
Base mag is 1.0. There is no eye piece “zoom”. I’m assuming they’re talking about how much magnification it will support from the day optic, and 9.5 sounds about right. I typically shoot at 6-8x on day optic, but have gone higher. Over 10x it’s getting pretty pixelated. I’ve been very happy with...

Another one. Should have tested out the shotgun as close as he was. 6.5 CM shooting 100 ELD VT at 49m.
20” 6.5 CM shooting factory Hornady 100 ELD VT has been amazing for me in a similar role. Over 50 pigs with it so far this year, up to 400lbs, and if hit above diaphragm they typically drop. Had one run 60m. A few deer and some coyotes with it as well. I’m getting 3100 fps out of my proof carbon...

Bastard went old school Predator movie and dunked himself in pond before coming out into field. My old Pulsar thermal scanner barely picked him up with the water on his back. Took me 20 mins to confirm was a pig before walked out and thumped him. 6.5 CM...
Mine only came with the picatinny mount. It has held up very well. Zeroed once and after four subsequent weekend hunting trips of daily off and on has still maintained zero.
Agreed. LRF, especially when you sync up the ballistic solver, is a game changer at night. I know my hunting property like the back of my hand, but judging distance with a thermal is hard, more so when you throw in a moving animal like a coyote.
Very happy with my unit, especially for what I paid for it on EV. Zeroed once, four separate hunting trips of daily off and on, and still holding zero. Only complaint is buttons are hard to differentiate with gloves on. Image in videos could be much better but just need good enough to kill...
Another vote for S3 if can find a used one in your budget. Very happy with mine on animals out to 400 and steel out to 1000 on a 6.5cm gasser.
Son has a MK5 3-18 on his 6.5 bolt gun that I built and set up for him. Unless weight was the ultimate priority and required locking turrets, to me the...
Gonna throw myself out there on this one. I am not an expert or a professional. I don’t get paid to kill pigs or varmints, and have spent a shit ton of money over the years trying out equipment to be more effective and efficient at killing pigs, coyotes, and raccoons after dark. I am blessed...
Good weekend. Actually had some daytime pig action. Damn trigger cam battery died on me tonight, otherwise would have had some good video footage.
6.5 CM AR10 shooting 100 ELDVT 50-200m.
Collimating means zeroing. There are steps for the zero procedure in the manual. They aren’t the best but should be good enough to get you through. If you are using a scope with any kind of magnification greater than 2x on the bottom end, make sure the menu buttons are on 1x zoom, otherwise you...
