Watch Out for Scammers!
We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!
You'd have thought BCM would have wanted to roll out a cleaner video. How many different companies has LAV been affiliated with in the last 10 years? It's painful watching this guy try to remain relevant.
Brownell's has made a fortune selling that stupid tool and a tub of aluminum oxide paste to the unwashed masses. Sounds like PTG is on scheme. God love 'em for finding a way to separate fools and their money...
Green Mountain barrels are well made and very affordable. There is no reason to even consider WOA or BHW if Green Mountain makes the profile your looking for.
I've thought through this tool enough times to form an opinion on it and it's not the best tool for the job. What prevents the receiver from spinning on the barrel extension when applying torque to the barrel nut?
When possible, you always hold one of the threaded parts and turn the other. The barrel isn't one of the threaded parts. In this case, the receiver and the barrel nut are. When the barrel is clamped and torque is applied to the barrel nut, the receiver can rotate on the barrel extension. The...

Lube it copiously first and then again. Cash money says this solves the problem... Are you letting the bolt group "fly" using the bolt release or charging it by hand?
This 6.5X47 project has been tried and tried again with very limited success. For all of the reasons stated above, don't take a proverbial stab at it unless money pits are your idea of fun.
Have you considered buying an AR-10A or DPMS GII and building it or having it built to your specs? If your goal was to find the biggest and heaviest 308's on the market, give yourself an at-a-boy.
Red X who? Was it your goal to purchase an unknown quality from the most obscure parts house you could find and hope for the best? This is one of "those" situations that could have been easily avoided. But you did get a killer deal...
You have no dog in the race, but OK... I'm inferring nothing and I don't want to "get up" on anything. I'm more than certain the OP can stand up for himself. You're welcome to quietly move along now.
