Rifle Scopes Burris XTR II 1-5x24 Illuminated Reticle Issue

Wow!! 3 reticle issues, we should definitely look elsewhere than this line up. Lmao.

RL 17 and a good starting point for 140 A max

2850 fps with the 140 class bullet is pretty good speed. My node was right around 43.8- 44.2. It's pushing 2950 so no need to work up higher for me.

WTF? No offense but isn't POI your "zero"? Sent from my KFTT using Tapatalk 2

    Reloading manuals.

I would say with a library of of over 30 manuals (bought from a widow) that the Lee reloading manual is the most comprehensive out of all of them (Sierra, Barnes, nosler, Speer, hodgdon, Lyman). It's my go too book. Sent from my KFTT using Tapatalk 2

Need help choosing which load from these groups.(load devlopment) UPDATED ! new groups

Seems to be some inconsistencies in the load charges. You jump 1 gr for each load then .5 for the last load. Should be .5 apart go the whole test. I would load around 59.5-60 and work up over 61, +.5gr until you reach pressure. Might find another node, maybe around 61.8. Sent from my KFTT...

    savage predator .260 accuracy problem

Have you done a ladder test? Or an OCW test to determine where to narrow down your powder charge to what your gun likes? How did you come up with the 41.5 & 42gr? Maybe check out Erik Cortinas thread on accurateshooter.com reloading section titled "long range load development at 100yds". The...

    Why clean your brass??

If I'm cleaning up range brass, ie. pistol or carbine stuff I usually tumble it. Sometimes it has sans, snow, mud etc. in it. For my bolt rifles I don't clean or tumble except after 3-4 loadings. That's probably why my accuracy is off, only half minute out of my Dumpy Salvage that I don't clean...

Rifle Scopes Burris XTR II Rifle Scopes

I guess it doesn't bother me so much because I am rarely dialing an even 10 mils or 5 mils. 8 mils gets me over 1000yds on all my rifles so it's less than 1 revolution for most applications.

Rifle Scopes Burris XTR II Rifle Scopes

Ok, I went into the Burris office on Friday to handle the XTRII. Their Steiner rep was there to help me out. These were ore-production models so the quality should b lower than the production models that will be shipped. As of Friday 3/7 the rep said there were 0 scopes in country to ship to...

Rifle Scopes Burris XTR II Rifle Scopes

Let me reword it another way. The range isn't 3.25" on 5x and 4" on 25x. The eye relief will be in between the two or put another way, it gives you .75" of play or forgivinness of eye relief. The bigger the range the more forgiveness you have. You want more eye relief forgiveness than less or a...

    178 Amax OCW Results

I know Erik Cortina over on accurateshooter.com suggest testing seating depths at .003 intervals. I thought it was to little to make a difference but may try loading up some at .01-.02 in .003 increments. Maybe worth a try, it worked for me. Sent from my KFTT using Tapatalk 2

    .300WM 1-13 twist

Well maybe the OP can get every member of the Hide to answer "I don't know". If one solicits an opinion on a subject that is way out of the norm, there can reasonably be an expectation that some of the opinions may not be normal, or what the OP may want to hear. He's been referred to jbm to do...

I think the eye relief is between those two number throughout the magnification range. It is a "-" and not a "/". Sent from my KFTT using Tapatalk 2

    Tubb's final finish?

I had almost the same as the Rob1, my factory WBY .300 was the worst copper fouling pig I have ever seen. Accuracy was 1- 1.5 moa. Ran through the process, considerably less fouling and accuracy is now consistently sub MOA. Wouldn't use it on every barrel, but I'm sold on it. I used it also a...

    243 Win. Loads

I loaded both H-1000 and IMR 7828ssc with Hor 105 bthp's. Both are sub minute loads, both are at 3050fps roughly. Never reached pressure signs with either powder, ran out of case capacity first.

    Case head seperation 260

Loose headspace? Had this on a rifle, it was off .003, I think. Total headspace was about.007. Was getting popped primers and the case web was bugled, never completely separated though. Could be worth looking into. I used a trick an old timer shared with me. Take a sized piece of brass, measure...

    .300WM 1-13 twist

+1. I guess I'm weird but I never quite understood someone posting a "question" when they have already made up their mind. I know it was originally posed as "does anyone have any experience with a 1/13?". I just find it frustrating on this site that a lot of threads are poo-pooed on by posters...

    .300WM 1-13 twist

OP never said he wants to shoot 155's, but even at 175 I agree with your conclusion.
