Unless I am looking at a pic from the wrong thread, I see a monopod on the rifle. Also, the best rifle I ever had was a gen 1. Smooth as silk and consistent 1/4 MOA. I miss her. Sniff... The easiest way to see if it is a gen 1 or 2 is to open the bolt and look. Pin or feed ramp. Plus...
I added a monopod to mine. It required having access to another rifle so I could measure exactly where to drill, then using a boring head to size the hole and make it ready to tap. I had to grind the tap flat to finish cutting to the bottom of the hole. It is a blind hole. As for the skins...
I've seen some pretty inaccurate results come from using bore lasers. The SRS can be sighted pretty well by just looking through the barrel from behind the rifle (bolt removed). Or has this been resolved? I'd like to know the outcome.
About the "zero stop"; it has none because it has an EREK turret. It WAY better. No wasted elevation adjustment, no need for a 40 MOA base. Complete control built right into the scope.
The inside of the receiver needs to be clean and free of anything that affects how it clamps to the barrel. Think burrs, paint from a sloppy camo job, etc.
It sounds like you want the rifle to have Arca Swiss grooves molded into the skins, I think it best to use an adapter attached to the rifle. Made to fit, it would cradle the gun and attach to the provided hole. Most likely aluminum. Strong.
Politics "Guess I missed it. Does this have any relation to '2nd Amendment' section not showing any content?" I was wondering this too. But this is not posted there... (nothing is) To me it's like the 'Hide has been castrated. I always dropped by the 2A section to hear about the latest...
Don't forget about the magazine. 22-250 is different from 223 there too. Perhaps a 250 Savage barrel? Same bolt face and magazine... Too bad you did not find a 788 like mine in 7mm-08. I have herd about the bolt handle breaking before - can anyone here relate a personal experience?
TO took me to a Winchel's in Rowland Heights (near L.A.) when I was a rookie. There were about three employees working at about three A.M. They simply ignored us - as it turns out the employees were expecting us to go behind the counter and help ourselves! I never went back.
I really ENJOY handloading my ammo. But only the precision stuff. 9mm and .223 are a drag, mass producing ammunition is tedious. But I went to the range Tuesday and now I have 20 empty 308 casings to load...carefully, precisely and safely. :p
US Optics service I bet he got to meet Becky too! :o USO wants the job done right. I took my SN-3 in thinking there was a problem with it. They wanted t fix it while I waited! As it turns out there was nothing wrong with the scope... Just a loose nut behind the rifle... But they gave...
Lots of camera lenses are made with PLASTIC lenses now. The are less expensive to make and work very well. It would make no difference with the softer lenses being internal. It all has to do with the refractive index needed for the application. A lighter lens can hold up to recoil better...
