I just got the .223 Varmit in with the benchrest style stock. I'm inly throwing a 4.5-10 Vortex Viper PST on it and we will see what happens. I have this one for test and review but I may just end up keeping it if I like it. So far my inly complaint is how sticky the bolt is, I slathered some...
I don't happen to have a Berger manual, but can anyone help me with a starting point? 42gns of IMR 4064 and a 175SMK is the best load I've found for my rifle so far, but I know there's better with Berger. I know I should have asked Bryan Litz when I met him a while back ha. Thanks.
I shoot mine both wet and dry, I use wire pulling gel most of the time but water once in a while. I shot it today mounted on a nagant revolver and got a slight baffle strike at the end cap which could have been bad but its all good, my local machinist sucks, we will say that.
Works for me. I have the .45 version but it's used on multiple .45s and 9mm handguns and carbines so it builds up quite a bit of residue. I soaked them in Carbon Killer for about 24 hours which softened up the majority of build up but I still had to scrub with a copper brush and there was still...
I am asking because I have about a thousand rounds through my TiRant and I can hear some carbon flakes in there and like stated before it will sieze up if not cleaned once in a great while. I tried soaking the baffles in the carbon killer and it worked for the looser stuff but there is still...
So I'm wondering what everyone is using to clean your can? For a rifle can that you cannot disassemble I just soak it in a diesel/ATF/kerosene mixture and drain it before use. But for my TiRant .45 I have used a ton of different things and now the baffles are currently soaking in Slip 2000...
I got to mess with all them the good stuff the other week when I was down there, and I do agree this thing has some weight to it, but I wouldn't be afraid to pound a nail in with it if needed. For now I'll stick with my Razor HD gen 1 and when I win the lottery I'll go for the gen two.
I'd love to, if I could find them haha. We have a limited selection available in the area. I have some hornady 35gn I'm going to try today and I have some 45gn stuff I have to try as well.
I picked up a Ruger American in .22 MAG this past weekend and was finally able to get to the range today. At 100yds it wasn't pretty. I will have to try different ammo, I was using Remington 40gn stuff. Nice rifles though.
Silent, I love it. When wet it's quieter than a paintball gun. Awesome. HK does as does Sig but they are mostly in metric threads. My tirant came with a 14mm left thread piston but the dealer swapped it for a .578 at no charge. I will stick with the common threads as then everything will...
I bought a Remington R1 enhanced with the threaded barrel and I love it. I went with that over the sig, hk, etc. because it came with tall sights. The only other handgun to come with a threaded barrel and tall sights would be the FN FNP-45 tactical, I could be wrong though. I enjoy 1911s and I...
Millet rings were $60 I think. Shipping both ways will not be another $70. Granted they will still not be anywhere near the quality, they will just be not as terrible haha.
Haha now if I man up and actually buy the seekins rings (like I should have to begin with) I would agree with you. But I can't say I have full faith in millet and their $60 rings haha. I know I know, I'm basically trying to polish a turd here but with a little work I think they will work fine.
Please. I need to lap my rings but I can't bring myself to buy a bar just to lap rings once. I don't plan on changing rings or the scope so its going to stay once it's lapped. I will put a deposit down or whatever is needed and I will pay shipping back and forth. Thank you.
