We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!
They have never been full length sized, or cleaned in any way. They have been shot 31 times and the lube accident happened at about the 15th shot mark. The soot comes from a mild load in conjunction with 5 annealings... and yes, the lighting is bad too.
I wanted to display these cases I have that got some head separation when I forgot I had cleaned my bore and chamber thoroughly, then coated them with oil preservative. I forgot to clean the chamber of oil before shooting. What happened was that the case didn't grip the chamber wall resulting...
I think rain does change the POI. I think the only way to know for sure is to have a skilled shooter that everyone trusts, to shoot say a 308 at 500 yards in the pouring rain, while a skilled videographer captures video to see if any rain drops are actually struck... whether it be by the bullet...
It could have been due to higher barometric pressure, maybe you were getting tired, maybe a combination of those two or more. There could be a number of things going on, sometimes you are the only one that can really answer specific questions. Mathematics For Precision Shooters Look at the...
To me it looks as if you are straining your neck to get the sight picture which is angling your head . Try with the stock a bit higher on the shoulder, then bring your head straight down. At the 5 minute mark, Sierra645 displays what I'm talking about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDmNjm9V--0
I agree with varmint slayer. Using Hodgdon Extreme Powders, I see a loss of precision with most loads developed in summer that are shot in winter, and visa-verse. But not always, I have a 30-30 Varget load that shoots sub-moa from 10º to 95ºF. You'll just need to experiment.
I would have loved to take today's shot in that, instead of laying on the wet ground... Need New Targets ...but to tell the truth, I really didn't mind.
I was interested what others might have thought of his information also... He tells it like he sees it, and he will note if the information is controversial.
I'm with you there. I don't shoot all that far, but I usually don't shoot all that close either... and I don't usually shoot traditional groups; mine are shot over a few days; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsoR52dnJic But it isn't as if I haven't shot a group the traditional way at 100 yards.
This isn't much to you guys but I was very pleased. The second day with my new scope; and the first try at 550 yards. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFQM9N6wQko Unfortunately the scope malfunctioned a day later. :(
I don't like the Elite 3200s. I bought one a Elite 3200 fixed 10x and the, (if I remember correctly,) the windage adjustment failed to operate after 19 shots. I bought an identical replacement scope and the windage adjustment failed to operate in under 200 shots. Their warranty worked...
By the time you know a sniper is after you, it is probably too late. I've watched shows on The Military Channel that display specific things snipers do when up against other snipers. I'd check out their schedule for the next sniper program. http://military.discovery.com/tv-shows/tv-schedule.htm
If a specific barrel does need breaking-in, the manufacturer will offer instructions on the procedure. I'll go with the manufacturers instructions, over YouTube asshatery, every time.
I've been testing the "'angle of arc'" theory long before I heard the term "'angle of arc'". I've done all sorts of tests to see if I could get a noticeable POI shift and the only way I found a shift was when I wired a firearm to a bench. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcR1meidxaI When it...
