I looked in there to see if it had copper. Pretty much all factory barrels are shot at the factory, but not cleaned. My common practice is to clean the barrel even before shooting it to start with a completely clean barrel, then go through the break in procedure.
New Savage 6MM Creed. Cleaned before and after shooting 2 rounds and it's still there. What are your thoughts? The rest of the barrel is spotless. I don't think its copper.
Need help finding a hunting bullet for a 338 lapua. Hunting bigger animals like big black bear, elk, moose, etc. What would be the preferred bullets to try? 300 grain is too heavy i feel, would like to stay 250-280 grain.
I have a stainless 338 Lapua and would like to get it a little less weight in the front. Gun weighs 9.6lbs. Can the barrel be fluted, or is it or it too late now? If so, any recommendations on who to send it to? Thanks
Has anybody shipped a gun lately and have any experience with these new rules? I'm trying to ship a rifle thru UPS. Typicvally I would take it to a UPS customer care center, and it would ship fine to a FFL.
Older savages use to be great, the newer stuff not so much. They changed something with their barrels, and they are not the barrels of 10-15 years ago. Bore scope a new barrel, and you will see why.
