    Green Mountain CZ Barrel

I had Mike Manzella do the Eachus chamber on a GM bbl several months ago, and have been very impressed with how well it shoots. I'd bought two of GM's chromemoly straight cylinder blanks for about $120ea a few years ago, and finally decided to send them both off to John at Keystone to have him...

Red neck aac 51T mount fix????

My first suppressor purchase was an AAC SCAR-h, and I was fortunate to find a Class III SOT who wanted it for his FN SCAR-H. Traded him straight across for a SF SOCOM762-RC, which is far from being my favorite can, but is so much better than that AAC POS that I've never regretted the trade...

Rifle Scopes Athlon Ares ETR vs everything else for PRS rimfire.

I'd been shooting with 6-24x50 Midas TAC scopes on a few of my Howa Mini customs, got curious about the 5-25x56 version, so got one and put it on a 223AI that is an excellent shooter. I'm getting up there in years - now 72 - but I could still easily see the difference between the Midas TAC...

    New Rimfire Project 2500x/Mullerworks/BnA

I included one of the Athlon Ares 15-60x56 scopes in my last order from them, and was a little disappointed when it didn't come in with the rest of the order. They were out of stock a few weeks ago, but I was told it might possibly arrive by the end of this month, but more likely won't be here...

NEW From Zermatt Arms - RimX Actions

I had Keystone profile a couple of the GM 27" straight bbls I bought direct from GM a few years ago, Then had Mike Manzella cut the tenon & chamber one of them with padom's Eachus reamer. That bbl shoots better than any other bbl I've done for my Rim-X, including a Bartlein that I chambered with...

The M1907 sling, am I the only one still using it?

I bought a Springfield Armory 'loaded' M1A in 1986 for shooting our club's 100yd reduced service rifle XTC HP matches; it came with a rather inexpensive 1907 leather sling that I had no clue how to properly rig. Shot that rifle until I'd shot the bbl out in1996, then set it aside and started...

    40X repeater Builds please.

I started off building precision 22RF trainers by getting a Stiller 2500XR action, doing the machine work on my very 1st 22RF bbl (Krieger sendero blank), and putting it into a surplus Manners T4A stock leftover from EuroOptics' run of custom built "Ultimate Trainers" that they hired built for...

    Muzzle brake and hearing?

I'm sitting here reading this thread, with the tinnitus causing pretty awful ringing - and it never stops. I drove very loud John Deere tractors from the time I was in the 8th grade, and that was usually for 12hr days. Wish I'd had foam roll-up plugs back in the mid-1960s. When I bought my first...

Help me pick an 18 .223 Wylde Barrel

Only one of the vendors you listed that I've used is WOA. Used several of John's bbls as well as Frank White's CLE bbls during the years I was shooting XTC High Power, though most of them were done on Krieger blanks, with a couple of PacNors thrown in. They were good enough to earn my...

    Unertl for 52C

I'm pretty amazed at how clear both the 16x & 20x small target scopes are - I shot 60-70rds through the 52C/20x, then got out my V22S with a modern Leupold 24x BR scope and put 50rds through it, both rifles shot on paper at 50yds. I'm not the least bit disappointed in the Unertl.

    Unertl for 52C

You are correct, the smaller target scopes do have 1-1/2" objectives.

    Unertl for 52C

I don't think I'd ever seen even a photo of a BalVar like that...thanks for posting. I'm not sure what to do with the larger of the two Unertl scopes. It's way too big to put on a smallbore rifle, and looks pretty big when set along aside the High Wall. All the photos I've seen of scout snipers...

    Unertl for 52C

I bought a decent 52C w/std wt bbl recently, and had begun looking for a nice Unertl target scope for it when I found an ad for two Unertls - a 20x target, 3/4" tube, 1-1/4 objective & 15x target, 1" tube, 2" objective, both in excellent condition. I made an offer for both scopes, he accepted my...

New ELEY Ultra Extreme Long Range Round incoming

My oldest V22 - built in 2017 from a bare action - shoots a few different lots of flatnose Eley Match better at 200yds than any of the lot-tested Lapua I've shot in it, though I don't remember comparing 100yd groups of each brand. And the flatnose Eley bullets didn't feed well the last time I...

    Norma Long range

I've had a couple of lots of Norma's TAC-22 that shot mediocre groups at 50yds in a couple of my V22s, sometimes doing a bit better in a couple of CZ457s with Shilen ratchet bbls with EPS chambers, but shooting best in a couple of Anschutz 54 sporters. Their Match ammo varied quite a bit between...

NEW From Zermatt Arms - RimX Actions

After wearing out a couple of Viper-style bbl vises (mostly due to using them while trying to remove Rem 700 & Howa 1500 factory bbls, which these vises were never designed to do), I bought the Short Action Customs Ultimate vise set, and have been very pleased with it. But the Viper would be...

    Gunsmithing Howa 1500 bolt disassembly

I've posted this before, mostly to relieve the stigma attached to barrel removal from Howa actions. All the newer actions with the HACT 2-stage triggers are quite easy to break the bbl loose with the use of a good bbl vise & action wrench. On the extractor & ejector pins, if you look at them...

    CZ 457

Based on my somewhat limited experience with CZ's hammer forged bbls (2 out of 3 didn't shoot good at all), and from all the posts I've read here & on other forums where guys are replacing OEMs with custom barrels, it's kinda surprising to hear someone talking about "how good CZ barrels shoot"...

NEW From Zermatt Arms - RimX Actions

Ditto - as tough as it can be to find ammo good enough for decent groups at 200yds without sending a rifle out to Lapua, I don't have much desire to shoot past 300 with my Vudoos or Rim-X. To each his own, that's just how I feel about it.

Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

Vudoo actions have the same radius on front & rear receiver rings; while M700's front ring is the same radius as Vudoo, rear ring has much flatter radius.
