    50 BMG brake

Good for recoil. Horrible for pressure wave. After 8 rounds I can’t keep shooting. Needs some type of barricade or a suppressor. The pain in the head is much worse than recoil with my Tremor.

Southern Precision Rifles . Any thoughts ?

One more pile on. SPR just completed re-barrels on 3 rifles. 2 - .308win and 1 - .338LM As with all my experiences, their work (chamber, flute, muzzle brake threading, cerakote) is the best ! Did some barrel break-in on all 3 before the weekend with factory ammo at Talladega CMP. All 3 kept it...

Southern Precision Rifles . Any thoughts ?

I have been doing business with Greg for nearly 10 years. Excellent service and excellent builds. You cannot go wrong ! They built this .300PRC for me.... After sight in, the first 3 shots at 600 yard at Talladega marksmanship park.

Congrats to Dave Walls and Team Accuracy International

Just a guess, based on the red "blow hole" on the side, it is an AX50 action... another guess, it is a Bartlien barrel but that is a real no clues guess.

    300 PRC update

Greg at SPR spun up a 28in Bartlein 9 twist on a Defiance Deviant. I am very impressed with the inherent accuracy. Took it to the Talladega CMP yesterday to get the scoped sighted and a catch a few FPS numbers on the LabRadar for the ballistics calculator. (Side NOTE: even on position 1 and the...

    300 PRC update

I just want to verify I understand this question and response: You can use the .338 CIP AX chassis with the .300WM CIP magazines for the .300PRC rounds?

Rifle Scopes Vortex Optics Shout Out !

I must give some resounding accolades to Vortex Optics. As someone who wanted the best optics product I could afford I researched and settled on Vortex about 7 years ago. My first purchase was the Gen 1 Razor 5-20 MRAD. Now I am the owner of 5 Vortex scopes: 2 Gen 1 Viper PST FFP 6-24, 1 Razor...

    Rifle Scopes Another Vortex down

This reply is why I have 4 scopes from Vortex. I've only sent one back for repair and the repair was handled flawlessly. Thanks Vortex !

    Waiting on 2014 AX chassis?

Mr. Irwin First, I ordered my AX AICS from Euro Optic on 26 June. I've been waiting patiently but I ran into a patience wall and decided to get an idea of where things are. I spoke to AJ first, already assuming that their first shipments had already come and gone, and I was correct - they are...

    Waiting on 2014 AX chassis?

I've been waiting since June for the short action pale brown to arrive at Eurooptic - to hold a new Accurate Ordnance build that is very lonely in my safe - and I've paid in full.

    Gunsmithing 1: 9 twist 308

This is not exactly answering your question: Southern Precision Rifles (fantastic but hyper busy folks) built a trued Rem 700 with stainless Brux 1:8 cut to 27in on it. It shoots 1/2 MOA at 200 yards with factory Hornday 178 Superformance, surplus Lake City LR 175's. Hand loaded Lapua Scenar L...

    Accurate ordnance rifles?

I contacted AO several weeks ago about a build and Mark replied to my email. He answered all my questions with professionalism and patience and I was sold (customer service first impressions mean a lot to me and he is a standard all companies should mimic). Anyway, I was fortunate enough to have...

    brux barrels

Southern Precision Rifles put together a GREAT rifle for me with a 1:8 twist 27" BRUX chambered in .308 on a Rem700 action. It is a seriously sweet rifle and regularly puts 5 Lapua projectiles in .28 MOA at the 250 meter zero. I can't say enough about SPR they are very, very good folks!

    Another Hornady Superformance Story

Well I have fallen victim to the FTF_FTE snafu of the .308 178gn HPBT Hornady Superformance.... It was so bad I could not get the bolt carrier back or pound out the shell. I finally resorted to careful prying of the bolt carrier with a chisel. According to the Hornady web site, my POF 308...
