Is it worth going for a monolithic setup?
There are things that matter. Like making sure the upper's face is trued. If you look at some of the most consistently accurate AR's out there the are not monolithic. Now I would go with a "monolithic" like Mega for the weight and design but a true one piece doesn't matter much to me. I'm more...- saryan

Dumping .308 for 6.5 Grendel?
I just built a grendel for similar reasons. I wanted a light weight hunting rifle with more energy that a 5.56 but less weight than a AR10. Rainer has the Carbon Fiber Christensen barrels for $500 and I snagged a 18". I will post some pics soon but so far its what I was wanting. Its under 9lbs...- saryan

Lmt .308 mws Shot the LMT with the 18"SS barrel today. Zeroed it in two rounds and then fired this 5 round group. Ammo was m118LR. Last shot was the high one. Pretty chilly here today and the bag set up was not ideal. Shot some more groups using hand loads and 178's but I didn't get...- saryan
